something that maybe does something different, uses interesting sounds rhythms etc
My favourite recent things were shpongles second album (didnt like the third)
Ott - blumenkraft
hallucinogen in dub
eatstatics ridiculous latin american psy-salsa !
so im a bit out of date and after hearing of anything a bit eccentric but well produced, if you know of anything really original please let me know ! Im not bothered even so much that it sticks to any one particular genre.
cheers,

Since all the releases you mentioned are NOT psytrance, but more like ambient, you should try looking more to ambient and chillout for your releases I guess. Original stuff in psytrance? Hmmm hard to find. Good solid psystuff is pretty easy to find. And anyway, what's original to you might be outdated to me. Even that is relative. I wouldn't call OTT original. Pretty good maybe, but original? Nope. That style has been done before. Pretty much everything you could think of has been done before nowadays. Those looking for originality in music are on a quest they can rarely fulfill. Why not just enjoy music based on your feeling of a track, rather than judging it on originality? Heart wins over mind in music with me anytime.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

i wasnt saying ott was original, I was just trying to give people an idea of the type of stuff I like.
also a lot of the stuff i mentioned is dancable, so doesnt really fit in the ambient section either. The eatstatic tracks i was talking about are definately not ambient neither is the shpongle stuff like dorset perception. I agree with you its not really psy trance as such but shares the same audience and artists. Youve obviously heard of them.
I know what music i do and dont enjoy, but thanks for the lecture anyway (=;
So i guess you cant think of anything huh ?

U can dance to a lot of music: Rock, HipHop, Punk, Walzer, DnB, Jungle,........

This is not a definition for psytrance.

ahem... -
all the acts i mention ALSo produce PSytrance unlike hip hop rap et c and all the other genres you mentioned.
Just because a psytrance artist makes some music that crosses genres a little does not make it suddenly irrelevant to a psytrance forum !
Either you understand what i mean and can offer something constructive to the thread or you dont in which case why respond at all ?
Although my original question states I am not particulaly bothered by genre (im sure nobody would die if someone mentioned a drum and bass artist), I am also interested in "psytrance" that has unusual elements or quirkiness, so please either offer a few suggestions or dont respond.

If you want original, check out "Mechanical Help Elves" by Haltya, for some psychedelic funk-trance. Seriously.           Row row row your boats gently down the stream; merrily merrily merrily merrily life is but a dream.

lalala - Derangos new album and of course old tracks is nice, they are still original too me... and i would really call it psychedelic...

im really fond of the album Etnica - Sharp from 2004... it has some very nice and dancable tracks... with some sweet melodies...
SonKite - Colours is a nice album aswell, some sweet tracks with good timing and very round basses..

Since you mentioned some old albums i would suggest if you haven't listen to them some other old ones but really good and also some new ones maybe cause it's difficult right now to mention new ones really good.

Cosma - Simplicity & Non-Stop
Spectrum XXX
Frequency Surfer - Respect
Star-x - Prepare to Fly
Silicon Sound - Pure Analogue + Loads of good singles look for them

on the chillout side i'd say
Aes Dana
Carbon Based Lifeforms
Huva Networks
Entheogenic
Asura
Solar Fields

all really great

For todays i think
Mr. Peculiar even though it's more fullon in some parts but maybe you'll like it
