Freedom of speach is limited here, it is limited by the guidelines, which are pretty loose, but do require ppl to stay on topic, and most of all to show respect to other and try not to hurt others feelings. You can dislike something yet respect others' feelings about it.

Which some of you here totally failed to do. Most of all you Ulf.

So those of you who cannot have a discussion according to these simple guidelines, are free to leave, or to start another community (or join one, there are enough of these around) where people constantly degrade each other and reduce everything to ego and who/what is better than.

Not here. That what we decided when we started it.

Now either you discuss the topic at hand, which was basically pretty simple, or this thread is locked.

For those who wish to discuss this, you can go here: http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php?topic=8584&forum=18&20

As for the topic, I'd like to point out that a definition is very much a question of personal taste and collective joining of these tastes, as there isn't really a formal definition for trance different genres.

Myself, I don't see much importance in genres and definitions apart from the opportunity to break them, which is basicaly to do something new and refreshing.

Yes, humour and irony are two of my favourite hobbies, but I do not wish to participate in a forum that limits the freedom of speech. And about the guidelines - I wasn't really aware of their contents, and therefor draw the conlclusion that this particular forum supported the freedom to speak your mind...

Like shahar say's, there is plenty of other forum's that does, so I will probably look up one of those...

Bye bye!

loads of negative vibes here.......

anyways i'll say what i was thinking.
everybody keeps enphasysing that music is a matter of taste and this forum is a place where amongst the other things we are all trying to show and "define" our tastes in trance music. What ulf did is nothing so serious to be attacked for. he was just being too honest and said his own original personal opinion. there is noting wrong to say that a stile in music is shitty or boring if one really means so.

ulf produces full on psychedelic weirdo trance and i don't know if he could define the asked question better because maybe he is not into those styles so he just said that they all sound the same(boring) to him. in other words he was being honest.

and about the respect thingy....come on guys if one sais bad words for music some artists produce doesn't mean that he/she doesn't respect them. the respect doesn't base on materialsm imo, we respect and like/dislike people because of other things rather than their musical expressions. so i don't think ulf doesn't respect them because of the music they produce, it is just his taste.
we should think what are the values that make us respect somebody, are they material or inner?! i actually think that honesty is a sign of respect, and ulf was being just honest.whereas making a face to somebody is disrespectfull act.

don't get me wrong i wasnt trying to be a judge here, i just couldn't agree and didn't like the way this thred was developing.

"Highpersonic Whomen"

progressive. not a "fashion" deep housey or techy kind of it but sure progressive psychedelic trance. one of the goodies your country have:)
on example of this cd lets say - tech trance will much less twisted and fast, and kinda more StepOnOnePlace feeling.
minimal progressive it will be if this cd will come without half of the noisy /melodic/ weird sounds part.          Believe your soul !

Xiii... lot's of stress here... Where's the education and respect? Why are you writing so aggressively, Zombi?
If someone wrote something that seems agressive or disrespectful to you, you should keep cool and answer in an respectful way. That's the way we are going to improve this forum. You're an old member, should give the example.

Back to topic: And I agree with you, Highpersonic Whomen is high quality progressive psytrance.

Highpersonic Whomen suffer a lot from the term "progressive"... It does them no justice. They make what I call modern psytrance - different than a lot of other progressive acts out there, these guys know what trance does better than other styles and are not afraid of doing that instead of the usual "let's give people soft grooves and make them have a smiley 136 bpm sunrise" that's become the average progressive track by the "big" names nowadays. They're progressive, but more than just that.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

Maybe it's just my impression, but i think we loose a lot when we are much more concerned/worried in "classify" what we are listening instead of "let it go" and enjoy the Music itself.
Of course, it's good understand the "Field" where the Music belong but hey...nothing more than that.
Because i usually don't like Full On, that don't mean i don't vibrate with some (many!) Full On tracks and the same goes for EVERY different Musical genres.
I even like some Folklore from my country, by the way

EVERYONE has his own style (even if seemed with another), there are A LOT of diversity (search it!), so...ENJOY what sounds good for your ears, no matter what it is.
Personally, i don't care with that.

I for myself, try to forget (quickly) what i didn't liked and...what i do LOVE, well...

the problem here is that we turned this to a style discussion and the topic was really about classification...I doesn't matter if you like it or not....we can still classify it...that's the topic here           DJ Dovla | Interchill Records, Flow Records

Could not agree more Twisted_oshri

Though I feel that there's way too much talk about this and that genre instead of enjoying the music.

To me music is music no matter what "label" people put on the music.
