Logic 5.5.1.. borrowed a mate's lappie and trying to get my head round ableton 8... buuut.. not so sure. Might just not be for me? |

Uh, Reason 4 and Logic 8 on my Mac.
It takes a lot of power to rewire them though so my 1GB ram is obviously not enough, once i set up two synths wired with an arpeggiator i need to optimize my songs.
i cant say anything about the bass though
Thor and the ES1 Rocks when it comes to fullon bass sounds.
i need to get some speakers, a better soundcard and a keybaord, though.

Renoise for most of the work, then usually mastering in Live cuz its just a little bit easier than using Renoise for mastering, only because I can drag-drop the mixdown into a Live set and it automatically becomes the length of the track, whereas in Renoise Id have to do that manually. Which would probably take all of 2 minutes longer, but whatever. Then if I need to amplify the track at all (if I mastered it right i wont) Audacity does the trick. Audacity is good anyway to check clipping and convert to mp3.
For a midi controller Ive got a Korg microKONTROL which does anything Id want a midi controller to do.
I need a good soundcard BAD and a pair of monitors, when I can afford them...
My main box is a 2.4ghz p4 hand-me-down with a gig of ram and stock sound card running XP. Its in storage right now, so im using a borrowed dual-core 2gb ram Vista box. I just discovered ASIO4ALL (ASIO drivers for most stock cards) which doesnt seem to work properly on this Vista box so Im kind of impatient to get my own box out of storage so i can try out ASIO on XP...

I use FL.. started with ver 3.1, now on ver 9. Tried Live, a bit of cubase but nothin works for me as good as FL. May b cos I'm too used to it n I don't wanna waste too much of my brain space tryin to learn the work flow in a new DAW
