pro tools hd just for psy? sounds a little overdosed..or do you do any film/sound design or intensive band recording sessions etc?

SX3... I may look into ableton more thoroughly in the future, but I still think it needs some improvements made before it can fight it out with the big boys.
If I had the cash I'd orbably get ableton just to piss around on when I'm bored. |

I updated from 8.0.1 to 8.0.9.
There's a lot of difference, because ableton has made a huge number of bug fixes in each version.
More stable now, I'm very happy with it. |

I love Ableton on the arrangement view.
It allows precise micro-edits and chops on the sounds!
Before I used Impulse for percussion...
but now I paste and place all sounds by hand.
To me, it sounds a lot better like this.
The consolidate feature is awesome!

You dont have to work with patterns in FL Studio, you can mix your wavs in the playlist, just like in Cubase or Ableton, thats how I do it
