I think Pink Floyd is timeless in the sense that many rock bands and whatever are considered timeless, but no so much in the sense of timeless psychedelicness.
So to compare it to electronic 'Psychedelic' music is not fair, since electronic music never feels really timeless to me.

listen to ummagumma.. sure there is a bit of rock.. but I find it hard to say it is a rock album.. its more an ambient album probably. The grandwizzard stories..all these noises.. than more this ballads ok lots of rocking explonsions inbetween but all this sahara mood in some of them etc then to be fair, I am not a fan of the other albums by Pink Floyd as exactly on this one.
Im not sure, but I would say they go out expirienced a really huge trip and recorded this state. But I can understand that it is not psychdelic for you, after all it really is such a subjective term/meaning.          https://soundcloud.com/shivagarden

I think we can agree that timeless music is that which resonates with a particular person for... well, a long time. So, it's also subjective. Key word is resonates.

I don't agree with dance music generalization. The psytrance that still resonates with me after all these years and therefore consider timeless for myself goes beyond the categorization of dance music since it puts me in a space where I'm not paying attention to the 4/4 beat anymore.

Anyway Psychedelic is definitely in the eye of the beholder
It's all in your mind and when taken the appropriate substances your imagination just blends with the music, like it already does in a sober state, but just much much stronger.

In my experience the music of Sensient really does the trick for me.
The album Antifluoro sounds kind of dry and minimal when sober, but once under different circumstances the music just makes a 180 % turn into something very alien, but just so cool
An example of what I mean is this, although a Hypogeo track, but very much the same idea of just wicked ripping sounds constructed in a way that it almost doesn't feel like a musical track anymore:

Isn't this timeless thing not just something similar to cars for example?
I mean a car from 10 years ago just doesn't look right, out of fashion and all.
But in 30 years from now, that same vehicle will all of a sudden feel like a very nice retro car.

the psytrance genre needs still a real psychedelic timeless album imo. Only a few albums won't get boring after years of existing - completely different to psychedelic music made by PInk Floyd for instance. You stll can hear it again and again on loop although it is released before most of us were even planned to exist. So much soul and spirit in it.

'Tanetsveta' by Psykovsky is this album for me, I think. Certainly not my favourite psytrance album, but definitely timeless and reeeeeeeeeeeally fucking psychedelic. It's not normal trance, that's for sure.

Sure I supposed that could be an analogy for some people's idea of timeless music.
Though maybe it would be different for those who enjoyed the old car back in their youth when they drove it than those who are young now and enjoy it for the retro appreciation.

For me, the music of my past that I feel is timeless isn't timeless because it reminds me of those old days, but because it still has qualities that move me. the matured and older me, even. I can still rock out and get goose bumps to it 30 years later.

There is a different classification of timeless music, however that's not subjective. And that's music which has a historical significance. Music that had never been done before that may have spawned entirely new genres of music. It's timeless for it's historical importance in the chronology of music evolution. A musical milestone.
So the question is, when stepping back and looking at the history of music made by humankind, does psytrance have a place? And if so, is there a single album that would serve as that historical record?

Posford tunes still sound like the future to me. Most of the other old psytrance not so much.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe
