I got pretty good information from people who go there year after year. You do not have to be at a party in Goa to know what kind of music and what kind of parties Goa dish up with these days.
All it takes is to read what you write and there's no doubt that I was spot on in my previous post about the scene in Goa these days.
And again I said the music is no good IMO and that Goa is last on my wishlist of places to go to for musical entertainment.
I would love to go to India and travel there without focusing on music. The country got an amazing culture so why bother go there for music you can go for anywhere else.

Get real man ,if Goa isnt happenin n the music isnt that good,why wud 4000 ppl show up at hilltop party on new yrz ? moondust festival held less than that # of crowd !! I think its stupid when ppl never visited the place just say bla bla bla.... plus if u dont like the music why do u post ur comments ?!

First there is no reason to feel personal offended or get into a defense position. It's all about taste. Nothing else.
4000 might like it (I know a few people who was there and did not like that party) but I can asure you theres way more people outside Goa who dont like the kind of music being played in Goa these days. And I can asure you there's tons of people who do not want to go to Goa because of the arrogant sometimes even rude attitude there among some of visitors and the music played there at the moment.
I like to see anyone here deny that the majority of music played at the parties in Goa these days are super fast Full ON copy & paste music and Dark psy in the bad end of the production scale. Again this is my opinion and my lack of liking this kind of music.
I doubt there's more than a few parties that play variated music styles these days. That's what I have been told from people I trust and people who's been going to Goa for years.
Everybody I speak to who's been to Goa the laste few years come back saying that the music is very one way directed. There's very little variation and that the whole scene in Goa is more or less down the drain compared to what it used to be.
Now I do not tell anyone that they should not go to Goa or not like the music or parties. BUT I'll say what I feel in a debate where everybody else say what they feel. And I reserve the right NOT to be told that I should keep my mouth shut or go to Goa before I can be allowed to have an opinion because a few oversensetive individuals take things way too personal here.

cacofonix, while you have a point there - why indians are not allowed to party in india, and I must confess I too keep dallying on my positions - tourists are guests, and have a certain liberty, by law, everywhere in the world. I agree a sound measure of nationalism is a good thing, but please also look at things fairly and objectively.
TrippyJohnny, you are speaking my language. I am from India and have seen the change you speak of first-hand. I suspect this is a vicious cycle - line-ups are not on merit but how long and furious your tongue wags, so talent stopped coming to Goa a while ago, and with it the growth. The dark side is sloppy and the full-on one jaded. I now call a bad goa dj "bad dj who copies bad music". There is no inspiration left, and if at all there is, it is hoping to get out on the first raft. |

i have to admit that i did also got discouraging advises about going to goa so i am following this thread closely
the thing is after years and years of enjoying parties i wanted to visit the "roots" to see where it all comes from, and sad but true friends that went the last three years told me that i would return very dissapointed as it is not anymore as what it was before... one of them told me "you better wait till the whole thing resettles in a few years and go then...
i know as well that their advise is worth following, i also know that i won't go there alone but that he will will be with me if i will go
maybe i will go to goa as simple tourist just to see the roots with no party at all is what i told him well he discouraged even that and advised me to wait...
so i will wait and see when the sky clears up
no situation is stronger then a heart that dares to love

For me the only reason to visit Goa again would be nostalgia - of cause its a very beautiful place, but if I wanted combine holiday with psy, as I usually do I would definetly go somewhere else.
Its ok...I think we are past the Goa stage- we have to let go at some point but the memories wont die  I agree with Krell...Goa is a state of mind, we will take it everywhere we go
There is so many beautiful, special places to explore...South America FTW
I will also focus on international festivals as someone in this thread suggested.

goa has turned 2 shit
its one big club
on the russian new year party they played only israeli cheezy fluffy full on garbage...vibe was good but wat a shit place to have a psy trance party...in a CLUB r u kdding me? XP GO GET A LIFE!!!!
the musik is tooooo bad
the only redeeming part about goa is the beach and the beauty of the natural land
will not be returning just 2 smoke and do drugs...ther are other places in the world...realy dissapointed with the scene in GOA

and i hope that all the mafia related drug foreigners are kicked out of GOA
and people are allowed only to chill on the beach and SHANTI
i cant beleive they played the same trakcs during parties...they could even make a soundtrack to GOA 2007 Volume 1 track 3....Sweetdreams (remix)
