So you want to know what spiritual deco, altars ,hindu deities ,buddahs, dragons or anything Arcane has to do with trance parties well lets just say you should come to a party in SF and Takuan "the pickled radish" and Josie will show you and you will see that an altar will take you places in your self you didnt even know of .the altars are inspired by the music they vibrate so come see peace and love

I guess this is the reason that this whole topic was started. I don't understand how you get peace and love by looking at 'spiritual deco, altars ,hindu deities ,buddahs, dragons or anything Arcane' when you don't know what its history is. I prefer psychedelic backdrops, colors and fantasy creatures. I guess thats what hindu gods are mistaken for - Fantasy creatures. No offence to anyone intended by that statement.

And how do you know they do not know its meaning? Because I went to the parties in SF and those folks have an incredible abundance of wisdom and knowledge. They seldomly do anything without a reason.

You know what! From a scene that's surposed to be non religious and accept all religions, cultures etc. it has utterly failed to stay non religious.

Says who... Who is putting boundaries to my experience. I mean the trance dance experience has been a religious/mystical experience for milleniums. If you want it that way... it is you, but if I wanted to make mystical and religious... let me Goahead

I am not aware of how many years you've been into this scene? But I have been in the scene for more than 14 years now and believe me where I come from the intention of the scene was for it to be a sanctuary for all people no matter their skin color, religion, sexual orientation, way of dressing etc. A pscene where the music was the most important thing. NOT falthy "hip" symbols.

The vision was to have a sanctuary without any religious symbols etc. So yes I do have a valid point and indeed the right to speak my mind since that's what we who basically started the scene in my corner of the world intended it to be like.. a non religious scene where all were welcome.

Now I dont speak for the rest of the world where many countries came along much much later and jumped on the bandwagon of clichés and symbols...but those countries that were active in the scene at that time mostly had the same visions as our scandinavian scene had. And yes that's all changed. sadly. Now it's shiva this and Bom shankar that.... A fashion scene with people that think it's cool to run around with OHM signs tattoed on their shoulders even though they got no clue what OHM is.

Hey handA ofcourse youve got the right to your opinion... For myself Ive only been goin to psy parties for 7 years compared with you 14 so unfortunatly my penis is only 1/2 as long as yours
Also did you not notice the part where I agreed with you??? (about how I would feel about it if Christian symbolism were dominant)

I'd say the off instance that you experienced is SF would probably be something I would be looking for. Take a look around you - In tracks, cd covers, parties - its all used. I had created a thread about its use in tracks which was locked because it became a religious war. I still stick to my opinion - Being wise is good decision making, being knowledgable is a totally different thing, I would take note in myh experience I have hardly or lets say haven't come across anyone who has both. Or maybe I havent looked in the right places

Remember sitting at Curlies....

My mind far far way....

When you leaned towards me n said the universe is going to come to an end when Mahadeva opens his 3rd eye....

Pushed my mind even further.....

Very much so Handa it's cool to have the Ohm and Ganesh t-shirts even though you have no idea what it means, it's a fashion just like dread locks nowadays you know Trance and then we meet in the dancefloors and they dance to stupid music saying it's killer! hihihihihihi Far away from a trance envoirnment!

to me .. absolutely nothing.

psytrance is sounds, effects, samples put up together by using sofware, hardware, instruments, etc ... with the purpose of creating certain atmosphere and state of mind and soul and body.

hindu gods have nothing to do with fruity loops, cubase, synths, computers, internet, etc etc etc.
so ... i say all this was just a phase, something that was fashionable. something that was "cool to wear".

BOM(B)!

Edit: don't think i'm trying to be mean, i'm not. i just have my own beliefs.
