i wanted to get a few opinions on whether or not if you like vocals in psy trance....

do you like hearing singing or vocals in trance or would you rather just hear the beats and grooves?

Psytrance with lyrics is no more psytrance imho.. Maybe vocaltrance is the right genre?

I like to hear vocals like indian chanting or some kind of operatic/classical singing as samples, but as for lyrics, like Analog Pussy or Dali... yeeech... no good. No chorus/verse bullshit.           .

movie samples are fine but once the guys got the mic in their hand * cough * Infected * cough * then it becomes somthing else and I just dont dig it , although the singing in some of the melicia tracks are pretty cool but maybe thats cause its female vocals           For those that understand no explanation is necessary ; for those that dont , no explanation is possible

i like synthesized vocals or vocoded stuff in tracks occasionally, the main thing is that it becomes bad when the artist starts using vocals all the time..but yeah once in a while it can sound good..

WRA sucks for this reason..

Nope, no vocals for me. Samples are ok, but I don't like chanting either. Let the beats and melody do the talking... If I want to hear singing I'll turn to other genres of music.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. i personally dont like hearing vocals in "psychedelic" trance.......

that is not to say that it is ALL bad sounding.......

maybe some samples of some voiceovers......but other than that........i dont care for it too much.....

Depends.

i think vocals can work well if used properly. and also some tracks have this chanting effect like the dalai lama is there, like sirius isness - oxygenation. great use of the effect there. i think even protoculture uses similar plug ins sometimes. as some one mentioned earlier sub6 using vocals, i liked the michelle adamson track they did a few years back. neat and very catchy.

@mr_sparx i think the mc sub 6 have is mc joe-natan.           www.soundcloud.com/ishikawa
