for the amount of records any trance label puts out, lets say 2.000 4.000 tops, its not enough for any lawyer to start getting busy imo.

Well spasm a CD of 4000 should pay at least 2% if used in just one song, and if the company lets them use the sample, thats another story. X-NOIZE tried to release a remix of a track and the original producers said no, but even so they went trough (read it here somewhere here). So the laws are not being followed and for a big label like chemical crew or spun, that sell ALBUMS where in every song there's a sample from somewhere else they would have to pay loads.
The point is if the owner to the rights of, let us say a voice of a movie, wants to be a dick, he can sue you and have money given to him, and believe me some "owners" do go to the limit to get that money back....
Everyone uses what they want and never give a shite about paying for what they have used and then they complain of the download industry... sorry but i have to laugh its a bit hipocritical, but its just me thinking about it......           Visit me

man... i should shup up but my opinion is:

"...we all learn from what others do. there's no thing as self-taught..." - les paul sayd it (yeah, the guy responsible for the guitars )

i still respect x-noise (never hearf either of the tracks but...) and i still think iron madness tracks always sound the same, still i like his style... if i was a party organizer i would put him playing here asap because the portuguese crowd will love it too (guitars and killlerghh)

i nmy opinion, i hate guitar in psy tracks, but i can still listen to some of his stuff and it even has to some point being inspirational to me.

but for an example of stuff i hate: the skazy song wich sounds like the nirvana track and the paranormal attack track that is a cover of metalica - seek and destroy... thank god no dj ever tryed to play it again...

Are we still talking about psytrance? ....

or corporate pop? not concerning x-noise... but what trance is and is supposed to be..

yes i do agree that the ajuna beach situation is shamefull... reminds me of michael jackson and the beatles going to court because of revolution, of course this will not take court matter.. must respect the original artist..

but come on...

but concerning samples.. i think its just ridiculous.. does my drop sound like urs?

The point is if respect and ethic is not being put in place the only solution is to "commercialise" the scene, there are too much lack of disrespect in the scene, and even with the "copycat" artists....
this is the only scene were songs are constantly being copied due in my opinion of the necessity of everything having to sound the same or else it isn't psy!!! from kicks, to basslines, to fx........           Visit me

i agreee with the fact that psy, like dnb for instance, is limited in what kind of soounds do fit because of the sytle in itself... a bit dificult to explain

full on is very different from old psy and goa and i think much more limited and not really that pshychedelic, but that's another topic...

any producer here has done things like 4x3 16th notes basslines (i think) were they respecting a style or just being copycats of the russian full on scene?

maybe if everybody's doing it you're not copycats anymore and maybe rythmic elements are more difficult to distinguish than leads but...           roll a joint or STFU :)

for goa late releases i recomend, yesod, kethzal and radical distortion. and i dont see any portuguese production related with this beautifull sound last saturday i went to hard club to see rastaliens and before i heard musguhtta and the music seems to be an endless loop and then after rastalien(s)(only one guy appears)a vs dj set with jay and korpora that looks a eurotrance seccion but attention i dont want to criticise portuguese artists because i have see very beautifull dj set and lives from portuguese people
          dont worry be hippie

Hi etnarama!

I've been to trance parties since 1997 till early 2001. now once on a while a go to a party, have a drink and don't expect much from it.

For me goa/trance parties as i knew them are dead! I know that people who haven´t been to parties on those years don´t know what i mean. It can't be describe, the feeling.

Still love the sound, but the mystic surrounding parties is over (for me that is).
