This is beginnig to tumble... Remind me of the old times...
Regarding the topic i think that in fact etnarama you where a litlle bit pretensious or maybe my english is not good enough but you led me to what i wrote and reading what people are writting i tend to believe that in a near Future
Portugal is going to be a place to make good party's in the summer
I say this because people will stop going to party's where the public only abuse's of the drugs...
The one's who will continue are the one's who will make our scene to be remembered as the most junkied scene of all the globe (Wait... Before crucifing me notice that i am Speculating. I also know that we have a small group of people who deserve all the best and in any way reflect this thought  )

maybe i should had agreed with you all and then i was right and worthy of reply?
i'm sick and tired of this "i know better posts" ans they always come with the wrong atitude: pretentious and with a clear sense of superiority!
always complain, bla, bla, bla
portuguese trancers are this, promoters are that, bla bla bla
this is no person fight, i couldn't careless... i just dnot see you givin any contribution, why should you complain?
what you suggest has been done many years ago. it's not a novelty for the promoters to buy the terrain. it's been done!
i think people saying the scene is "junkyed" have never been to any other type of event, where the same drugs are consumed in the same quantities...
the truth ois that young people today use much more drugs than the ones of before, maybe because of depper pockets, i dont know!
but the truth is that in every scene lots of drugs are comsumed.
btw, i thought WE the trancers should be the ones defending our scene, not throwing it down.
by comparasion with the UK scene, one of the oldest acts in the UK posted recently in a UK forum that the thing that he most hated about the psyscene was not complaining in public about not get paid at some gigs to not throw negativity in the scene.
what can we learn from that statement?

the problem is that those speculations can hurt the scene!
I'm not talking about you, because i dont know your experience, but how many makeing those comments have been in a party outside portugal?
many bad things happen in this scene globally, some migth know happen happened two (?) years ago in a german festival were unfornately a baby died. And you see the germans sayin they are worst than anyone else?

I think we shoud do a school of trance, so that people would behave in a party, once and for all.
The classes would be:
. learn how to dance, (some people really need a help).
. Rolling a fat one (indoors and outdoors).
. Learn how to dress properly to a trance event.
. A guide on how to go through 1.000 people with 3 beers in the hands.
. Learn how to properly ask the DJ to play "the one with the guitars!!!".
. Orientation technics (good for arriving at the party).
its not enough i know, but it could be developed. |

i just wonder why the guy who launched this topic can talk about decadence (yes, thats what trance in portugal is all about...) when his signature refers to an illegal form of downloading music (yes, I know what is DC++, actually StrongDC is better and i also download stuff, i just dont advertise it)
I stay away from parties because if i go, i get surrounded by decadence.
In trance foruns you still can meet some interesting people...not in parties anymore.
Oh... and all that label, live act and dj stuff you mentioned, we share the same point of view. The difference between me, you and those crappy dj/lives is that aparently we make music for us, not for publicity/fame. Excuse me, but Loko is a perfect example for this. He doesnt play as dj for 4 years, thats a lie. And these are the lies you refered
as the cause for all this decadence.

i do understand what ren is trying to say about the "junkie scene" but more and more i see many faces that dont really go to partys for more then the reason to get fucked up... not saying everyone.. i also like consuming drugs in certain partys.. but my real favorite drug is the music... me and many many others.. as i also do agree with "joao" with u seeing that kind of ambiente at ur local rock concert where everyone is throwing up all over the place... people do tend to consume more drugs in trance partys.. as our scene is the most feel good smile to the other vibe... ive scene some sad things in partys with drug use as i have scene some funny inforgetable experiences of pure bliss lol..
im sorry if this is a bit disorganized but i just came from portugal with a 17 hour stop in london to america lol and didnt sleep, but the ideas are my opinions on the matters i read.
as to our portugues/english friend  london rocks! had a great time  and about the flag, i lived 15 years in America.. i am 20 btw, and am going to be here for 1 more year.. and i dont really agree with the fact that in 4 years u choose the english flag as ur country flag isn't very thoughtfull for the country we where born in ...

I also left Portugal, in the end of 2002...and to be honest...completelly disapoěnted about the direction that Trance was going...fortunatlly i come to Spain...and i found here, allmost the same movement...that we have one time in Portugal, (98/99), so for me was a nice surprise....
Don't think that becouse Spain sceen is small, we don't have the same fuk..g politic's, ego's,whana be...
only the scale is diferent...cuz ppl are not diferent because they are Trancie...and look Hippy...or even because they go to Trance party's...
But about Portugal...i still beleive that one day, the thing's might find another diferent way...better...
But was nice if some ppl make some retrospective about what Trance pretend to be...as a "cultural" expression...specially for the new comer's...
Soon i hope to go to Portugal and see if something have change from 2004 until now...

m8, this topic has been discussed a while ago..regarding the boom of producers and party organizers in our beloved country, as well as the state of parties in general, but it's never too much to mention it!it's not wrong to have many producers..it can probably spice up the competition..what's wrong is to have too many producers who think they can play and to have people that support them bcuz they are friends or something like that. Last year in november i went to a party in Évora, there was only one live, i think, Suria. Anyways, the party was damn well organized, the spot was good, the sound system was great, good enormous tent, but, NO PEOPLE..there were like, 40 at the most during saturday night. Suria, as always, wrecked what was left of the party..it surely made me leave. Probably it lacked 1 or 2 renouned djs to be bigger, but it had all the conditions to be a great party!on the opposite side, i recall vibe tribe and ananda shake's party in the summer, where a lot of people showed up, the ambience was darn good, but the organization was so so so crappy, the spot was awful..they even had to change the party's spot at the beggining. VB and Ananda blasted the dancefloor, but there were some djs who i simply can't understand how they got paid to gor there and play...simply awful!The organizer was psygathering (i think), new promoter, a bunch of "Ze Albertos and Neighbours" trying to organize a paid party..well they completely failed..if it hadnt been for Vibe Tribe and Ananda Shake it would have been a complete disaster. My point is..why try to organize massive paid parties if "you" have no experience, nor background on the subject?why not start with small, free, neighbourly parties?is it for the money?is it to be know?i simply can't understand the amount of crappy organized parties going around lately...we want "cultural parties", with all the conditions we pay for...no worries...

Well just to let everyone know...
I have a virus in my pc @ home thats why i havent replied or nothing, for that i'm sorry..
There are loads of comments about me, sorry if i dont wanna answer everyone but at least let me say...............
1 - that i dont want to sound pretensious in anyway (Ren)......
2 - that dc hub is for music production, i use it mostly to talk with producers from other styles, backgrounds and countries...... stop the nonsense, we all now the eternal story/battle of the DOWNLOAD industry ...
3 - I started this topic with the intention of having a debate about a subject, not a fight between people, specially on the net. Give your opinion and thats it.....
4 - the junkie scene happens everywere, if you think "our" parties (portugal) are hardcore, visit a Tekno party here in london that's decadence...
5 - I have explained why i have choosen to use the english flag, in anyway i feel i'm english, stop this nonsense (the flag doesn't matter nor is the subject of the topic)
6 - Portuguese promoters still do good parties
7 - There are extremely good producers and people of good will in the portuguese scene, the worst is to find them... Visit me

Do you think that maybe this scene has to became commercial to became professional?? There are too many "parasites" in the scene.
Well, why, do i say this.... yesterday i noticed that people were complaining that they bought Cd's and the tracks didn't matched the tracks they bought, X-ray (japan) they renamed a song from Bliss with the name of Cosmosis and Junya, but it happen in other VA's. Then you have those, who have probs with psyshops and saikosounds..........
Now imagine every artist have to pay the licences to use movie samples and even songs from other blokes, the scene would disappear....
These are the problems of the deregulation of this genre,
