Fun times...

Primordial Ooze just keep getting better everytime I hear them! Their sounds evolved tremendously ever since the blowout live set in southern Illinois last year. More Goa, more depth. Its great to see you guys changing it up so often... eagerly waiting the album release this year (Divine Balance Records ... whoo hoo )

I missed most of Mubalis set being on the chill lineup at the time. What little I heard was fantastic, very twisted sounds... and excellent collabs with other artists, integration of their sound but still keeping the Mubali madness intact.

Missed almost all of Witchdocta's set for the same reason... but I heard it was THE set. Always a good time to see him behind the console... puts all the dancers on the floor to shame

Paradigm... you are the man! It's been eons since I jumped while dancing to psy and your music made me do exactly that. Thank you for showing me what I'd shunned for the past few months. It was great revisiting those sounds

Big thanks to Chris, Ritesh, Abraham and the rest of the crew at the farm for their hospitality Hope to see you again soon.

Thanks for MINDOUTPYSDE for throwing this great party. The deco was really nice and you guys just keep getting better all the time..whats the secret force behind it? Let it out pls.. as for the music for the night..we came in when Clandestine was spinning and he really set the tone for the night with some nice tunes.

I actually went to listen to Abraham for his chill set after that ..my music habits are changing..lol..he played some really nice tracks ..great selection..really helped me rejuvanate after the long car drive.

Primordial Ooze, Mubali and the Wichdokta were the highlights for the night to me. each one pushing the envelope harder than the previous one. Very mind draining to me over the night and there came a point after Wichdokta's set when I thought that all the levels of the sonic experience had been met. I was amazed by the theatrics of the wichdokta..seems that he had the whole set planned like a show..very well done though..

Maybe the cold in the room also contributed to the rapid draining of energy in people. so unfortunate that it had to be in the main room..so many people just stayed in the chill room because of the cold..lol..damon must be happy about that..Varun and Damon also kept a great chilll vibe going in the warm room all night..maybe thats another reason there were less people in the main room this time. It was nice to see naveen, ritesh , poornima and the rest of the gang after a long time.

All in all, it was a great party and i hope that more people could have come if it was not so cold outside and inside. Looking forward to the next time. Keep it up people!!

P.S - i left a "green" Express wool sweater at the party along with a blue water bottle. If anyone finds them, Please keep them for me till the next one on March 3rd. Thanks in advance

~~~~~~~Review of TDS2~~~~~~~
First of all I must once again say it...WOW, what a night! I am shocked at the progress that we have made not only as MindOutpsyde but also as the Midwest in general. TDS2 was by far one of the best indoor parties that I have not only been to, but had the honor of hosting as well. I was just astounded at all of the new faces that I saw and that were truly giving psytrance, one of the most important things in my life, an honest chance. Not judging the music for anything except its quality and ability to fulfill for the listener what they want to get out of it.
It makes me so happy when people are just having pure uninhibited fun. No worries, no stress, just cuttin loose and dancing. I know that a major contributing factor in this incredible phenomenon is the people who attend these events and who respect everything that needs to be done to keep it goa-in. THANK YOU. Thank you so much for being there, without all of you none of this would be happening. Literally. I can not stress how good I feel about the Midwest family.
I am glad that everyone enjoyed the deco. Actually I am thrilled that everyone enjoyed the deco. Big thanks to everyone who helped and dedicated their time to make TDS2 look so amazing. I don't want to look at a ladder or about 2 weeks. Speaking of the music, I think that the music spoke for itself. AWSOME. Paradigm played an amazing opening set, I was so happy to hear tracks that I have mostly never heard before. Boozer came in with some much needed journey psy goodness. I heard a lot of people dug that sound. Trevor, I was thrilled to see ya get down like ya did...Keep up that energy, its crucial. Great track selection as usual. I was supposed to miss Chris' set but I ended up hearing most of it and I am damn happy I did. You pulled out some of the full-on faves for sure. Tight mixing and cuttin, what else can I say, noice one!
THE OOZE...Oh my oh my...Goa madness, eerie, twisting, breathing, funny at times...I was in a full on hypnogoa trance...slithering, bouncing around, sensing with my serpentine tongue for the next sonic vibration. Your music is soooo rich, like triple brownie chocolate chocolate cookie dough ice cream. I would have to say that your guys' sound is by far one of my faves...
Mubali got it on with force. I was blown back by the onslaught of new tracks that I heard. It was a very unique combination to hear the edgy sounds of the Russian artists blended in with the rich deep sound that Mubz got. I remember getting updates about what new tracks came from where, by far what did me in, was the Looney tune you wrote with Kraft...I say damn, mechanical, explicit dark psychedelic trance at its finest. Now that ya live in the Midwest, expect to be commin out a lot more, I'm sure everyone’s down!!!
Now what is there to say about the Witchdokta that hasn't already been said? Rich I am soo glad that you came down and showed the Midwest that the US psy family has no boundaries. I would have to say that was one of the most powerful and amazing sets that I have ever seen. Unparalleled. Your energy and sonic power was felt throughout PsyOwa. Simply amazing track selection, we look forward to havin ya back any time. And I can not wait to come out to your side of the states and see how the whole geomagnetic/full circle family gets down, get ready for a psyowin invasion.
The morning vibes that Paradigm and Airyck deliver are unsurpassed. I admit I was sucked into the chill room for the heat for a part of the time, but what I heard was straight morning power. Radiating throughout waking everyone’s senses up and lifting consciousness to whole new levels. Great to have the full spectrum of sound represented so well. Some how I was missing the sun beaming down on my face restoring massive amounts of energy back into me, oh well, this summer we'll all have our fill.
Although it was impossible for me to split in two and hang out in both rooms all night (I'm still working on the splitting/cloning thing) I was shocked at how many people were packed into the chill room when I was in there. Huge crowd just diggin the beats, sharing ideas, making friends...Big thanks to all who made the chill room so warm, friendly, and an incredibly comfortable environment to hang out in. I was happy to meet so many new faces and see a lot of familiar old ones. I hope that people continue to show support to this great thing and keep expanding minds and horizons. Sorry to all who went to afties that I didn't make it. We had people have car problems due to the cold and I had to stay and help them out, next time, we'll all get together after Voodoo Therapy for a good cup of chai, smoke, and good conversation.
Thanks to all who came, danced, and had a good time. This is why we do this. I am very eager to see all who attended TDS2 at Voodoo Therapy. Voodoo Therapy is gonna knock everyone’s socks off. Prepare to visit the ruins of the ancients and embark in the sacred dance rituals to regain a higher state of being.
Well, once again, a big thanks to all who made this night so unforgettable for me, I hope to see all of your smiling faces soon!
MASSIVE LOVE FOR ALL THE GLOBAL PSY FAMILY, ESPECIALLY THE MIDWEST!
SEE YOU ALL AT VOODOO THERAPY!
well this was a fun party.... Mindoutpsyde did a great job with the venue and utilized the deco and string art great to shape and fill in the space.
Too bad it was just soo damn cold inside. Someone above mentiond that they thought it drained the energy of the room a bit. With this id have to agree, but only a bit. I think folks just sought refuge in the warmth of the chill space, which really is great. Its not very often that chill dj's get a crowded room to play for, so its nice for them when it does happen. Those that stayed and toughed it out, showed what psyowans are made of.... and its far tougher stuff than most trancers in the country.
Musically i thought the nights flow went quite well.
I was very impressed by Ooze's set. Though there music isnt quite my cup-o-tea,(but thats just taste and taste is totally subjective) the level of their performance from a technical standpoint was awsome. Every bit as good, if not better than most major international live acts out there with dual members
Mubali's music has deffinatley shown its developed to the next level. His collabs with Kindzadza are just amazing, and many of the new tricks he's learned have dramatically cleaned up his sound, and provided a bit better concept of clarity for his insanity (as oxymoronic as that might sound) He's now deffinatley positiond himself as one the US's premire dark acts
Wichdokta layed it down in his typical theatrical fashinon. Its always a kick to watch him, and it certainly seems like his set was very well enjoyed by the crowd.
Everytime i see Airyck, he impresses me more and more. From his taste to his skills behind the mixer. Really ive got to give him kudos and i think hes every bit my equal behind the decks with his skills.
and Trevor was quite the pleasant surprise. Nice tracks and good mixing. I wasnt sure what to expect from him going in, but he sure beat my expectations.
Nick and Chris threw it down in their typical fashion. These 2 seem to be quite consistant in there quality of their sets.....and consistancy amongst trance dj's is a rather uncommon feature
as for my set, in reading some posts, som folks seem to feel that my style was to different from what was played up to that point. I can only tell you that i intentionally played my set as that, so as to be diametrically opossed to what had been the norm for the night.
A trance party is supposed to be a journey, not just a constant stomp fest of night time monsters. Folks need to be gently brought back down to earth sometime, and as high as Mubali and Wichdokta launched em into orbit, well someone had to start the decent back down....
and yes it did get a bit cheezy towards the end, but indoor morning lend themselves more to those anthemic rave sounds than a outdoor morning..(thats for you rajat)
all in all this was a great time, just a friggin cold one. I think Iowa is lucky to have a venue that provides you with the freedom that Em. City does. Count your blessings there.
Looking foward though to some outdoor adventures with the Iowa stompers.
Greetings from Mexico. Hope all is well in Psyowa. As for the party, WOW. It was heart warming to see the future of psytrance is in good hands. Chris,Nick and crew, great job. The night was full of dancing happy people. Ayric was great at creating the vibe for the night. His progressive style was abounding with smooth basslines and cool soundscapes. Chris came next with a bit more bite to the sound and got the place jumping. Good track selection, all the songs seem to flow together effortlessly. Nick came on hard. He took the next left on Psyway St. and headed for Tweeky Park. The crowd gathered up in front of the DJ table and doofed the good doof. Next, a very anticipated set by Primeordial Ooze. Hard basslines kept you pumping on the dancefloor while the squelches and zips had your mind a flounder. I was absolutely impressed by this team of psychedelic professors. Primeordial Ooze for breakfast at GEMINI, OH FUCK. By the way, which one is Primeordial and which one is Ooze? As for the great Brown Note himself, mister Mubali, what can I say but Masterful. Super funky in the beginning and outstandingly insane at the end. His new tracks are an entity to be reckoned with. Watch out world, here he comes! And Paradigm was "Guy Smooth". Awesome tracks with great mixing skills makes this man a Morning Master. He is one of the greats in my book! And last but not least, the Psyowa crowd. You folks get down with the best of them. For being a new scene, it felt like you all had been doing it for years. Thanks for all the wonderful words of enlightenment. You made me feel like my job had been done. Many blessings to all of you from the Wichdokta.
I just want to say thanks to everyone for an almost perfect night! I had one of the best times ever and feel that the music, vibe, everything worked out great.
all sets were amazing... i was pretty busy working door/getting arrangements till about halfway through Aktif's set, great stuff. He is one hell of a dj and allows keeps me on my toes. Watch out as this guy is smokin, and will be gracing the country soon enough! then came the ooze, these guys never cease to amaze me. great stuff and they have a bright future ahead of them.
then mubali, wow! holy crap batman this man pulled out ubelievably good stuff. in a couple years we'll all be levitatin from his tunes. he stayed till afternoon yesterday, great man and had many a great smoke and motivating words from him
wichdokta again played one of the best dj sets I have heard. perfect amount of energy, puts me at half his age to shame I was hypnotized the whole time and will definitely be booking you again shortly! thanks for being such a great person and giving nick and i a chance as well!
Paradigm chopped it the f*ck down. flawless mixing, great selection of tracks and perfect flow. I loved the stuff. the 3 of these guys worked perfectly with eachother. we'll be having you again as well very shortly
Airyck, your the man and always will be. keep up your producing as your tracks are top notch and djing phenomenal. thanks for all your help as you are incredibly valuable to the cause.
as for the chill room, again I missed out alot due to being very busy. next time though, i promise!
thanks to Varun damon (kinda lol) for the company at the afterparty, you and anyone you bring is always welcome keep up the great work and keep coming!
