Sooooo... I am a little curious. Is it fair to say that the top ten forum has more traffic than the general forum here even (look at views vs replies)? And with so many unreleased remixes and edits and what not, one has to wonder what fuels it all. Is this really all kids downloading from soulseek? Is it friends trading mp3s by ICQ and such? Do the label managers play these games too (saw one guy get corrected on a track title - it makes you wonder where they get it from)? Certainly there are some people with connections actually planning a future release and using the top tens to promote a little, but are the majority just skunks acting super buddy-buddy with the artists online to mooch tracks out of them? I'm just wondering what the score is, since it is obviously the source of a great deal of activity... and from the surface it just seems like kids churning tracks out and trading with schmoozy friends, who go lauding them over others simply because they haven't been (and in many cases, probably won't ever be) released. There are plenty of isratrance top ten folks who don't even really participate outside of that area. What's behind all this, then? Any thoughts? |

I personally don't like that section. It's all about stupid ego wars nowadays. Who has the killest top10. Who has more unr. killas on their HDs.

the amount of unreleased stuff put up there is really disturbing............
most of the tops.....or rather all have many unreleased tracks on them
At the end there is a DOOR & waiting for you on the other side of that door is either HEAVEN or HELL |

Hmm, man, my opinion you are digging too deep, does all this u mentioned matter? I think its personal business off all the people with ego , traders of music , kids not kids , labels and managers, and off cause the artist who create this music ... for all I know, trance itself is not so easy to understand , bunch of partys some of them half legal gatherings , illegal outdoor events , and some legal partys and festivals... Music makers, and I am not trying to diss anyone, I totally support what each person does … but c’mon don’t tell me everyone had paid for all the software that they use, samples from movies, remixes, blah lets not even go there ... The point I think is, we all are parts of the process that is going somewhere ... then more people involved then better, no matter on what levels they are involved … And of cause please all! RESPECT THE ARTIST, because of their creativity, energy, and countless hours spent trying to make that killa sound

The top ten section is fine,all you have to do is to watch the top tens from the labels and the old users of this forum,usually none of them is showing off and none of them is trading to get his tunes.
Just dont pay much attention to the new users and users that post just in that section cause usually you will get in the middle of big fights

there are new users that want to get involved with the forum... new users usually want to put top10 because they want to show what they like, by this they say who they are to the others...
anyway, i think this is very harsh to ignore the new users... u should welcome them with big hugs
I say: keep the good spirit, enjoy, be friedly and positive NEW DOESN'T MEAN BAD USER!
I know pretty much old users that talks only bullshit... and new users that are very interesting...
And another Important thing:
LABELS TOP10 usually not their top10 but only promotion for 10 tracks... off topic or what?!
ps I never put my top ten, I prefer to review cds that i really like and talk about things that happening around... maybe in the end of the year...

I don't really like the top10 section either, it's just too killlllllllller here and killlllllllller there, quite boring to follow.

This though I think is not true.
First of all not everything released has got quality!
Second, and I think that is obvious to everybody following the music, there are loads of unreleased tracks that are great and of high quality.
There are people like TexasFaggott, that say "no thank's" if a label person asks him if he wants to release a track and there are others, like Derango, that do releases, but have lot's more other good tracks, that are unreleased and now available as mp3.
Inspired artists produce more good tracks than will get released and I think it is great when these tracks get out to the people. Should they 'rott' away on the producers hard drives?
Released means: put out for business.
Unreleased means: not put out for business.
It doesn't say anything about the quality. |

let me show you how this works...
Released means: track sold and released!
Unreleased means: track unsold and there are many reasons why this track is unsold. OR track sold but the label who bought it will be release only in the future so it's still considered unreleased.
why Unsold:
1. BAD TRACK!
2. too new, no label bought this track YET
3. the labels hate minimal haha kidding... but seriously lots of minimal artists less labels... no place to release 
4. illegal sample (long one) can't be released without paying....
5. .....I'm sure there are tons reasons u can think of...and even reasons u can't think of... they just happening
