ok,maybe its just me but i hate when the next dj/live comes to play 30-20 mins before i end my set, with his laptop, keyboard etc...then comes the sound technician to connect all those wires to the mixer...then comes the dj/live friend, the friend friends, party organizer..etc..etc..damm way too much people behind the decks before i end my set..i just hate it!!!

this just happen to me last saturday,in fact, this happened every time i played at a party, only diference this time i turn off the music and said to them...tell me when ur done,so i can finish my set!

in my opinion, artists, toghether with the org, should have all the equipment wired before the party, thats the right way.

what do u think about this?

tell me ur thoughts.

Well, its totally impossible to have wired all equipment what artists from line up use, on the same time on stage, especial if it talk about festival. I also hate when more then one person walk around me when i doing my job. Thats why it should be double stage on festivals. Its possible to arrange everything on one stage with out too many materials. Actually just need to push forward part of stage for DJs and on back side to a bit lift up part of stage for Live acts and problem is resolved. Otherwise can bi one part of table (2/3) for live performance equipment and on other side of table (1/3) DJs equipment. I play on many parties with composition like those two, mostly with second solution. But if stage made like in your case there is no other solution for doing this. You must fit on it. I totally understand your rage in that moment but turning off music is not even good solution cause you braking the trip of crowd which is the less guilty for that situation.
But i totally understand what you trying to explain...
My advise: next time, when it come to this, to bother you and shake with hands around you, just move back and let them do they job. Dont worry about mixing cause on that way you will show the crowd that org or next artist, bother you, not with turning off music like you do. And if those ppl on stage do not realize that you can't do your job because of them, then they are totally mindless and you play for wrong promoters...

Increase the stage size and get 2x 4 channel mixers, preferably 2x Ecler mixers

I totaly agree with you Palex !

And I say it from the Sound Tech guy's point of view.

Sometimes when I see too many people around the artist and I see it bothers him I go up there and shuu all away... (as a sound eng. I feel it is part of my duty to take care of the stage & the artists will) but sometimes these people are the orgenizers and theres nothing to do about it...           www.myspace.com/42aviv

yea me to..
its better to put a dj before someone whos going to connect laptop and random gears then have two liveacts in a row imo. more space and easyer to work thatway.
live-dj-live-dj like that.
but never turn of the music doc!

their 15 mins of fame!

Its part of the trade tho...its difficult to keep everyones gear ready before the party starts off. The last 15mins will be a mess. But as palex said..frnds frnd frnd..tat guy this gurl..break into the concentration. As far as its just 1 or 2 ppl..its ok...just do watever u want without distracting the person who is holding the party in his hands.

I agree with Psy_mystic infact. Switching off the music is a dicky thing to do. There are better ways to deal with the situation. Leave your ego at the door before you enter a psytrance party

Im sorry to say, but switching it off ? The people dancing doesnt care about whats going on around the decks..

For sure people should be polite and careful when rigging equipment when someone else is playing...

2 decks setup ? Not for small parties/festivals, thats for sure

maybe better to light that joint and let them rig a little bit, before last final ending of the set...
