Oh, you're welcome!
you'd probably get more help being kind to people who answer your "online urgent demands"
kindness is good!
Cheers and good luck with your monitors purchase. |

There are not many active monitors for under 500 € a pair and with a frequency <50 Hz (like the Adam A5X have).
A few:
KRK RP8 ROKIT G2
MACKIE MR8
YAMAHA HS80M
SAMSON RUBICON R6A
SAMSON RUBICON R8A
M-AUDIO STUDIOPHILE BX8A
BEHRINGER B3031A TRUTH
My opinion of the mentioned ones, based only on reviews not on first hand experience, is to stay away from these monitors and better save more money and get something like Adam, Dynaudio, Genelec, ... depending on your taste.
And of course something with a good low end.
If it's really so urgent the A5X are not a bad choice imo. And when you have money to spend again get the Sub7 or Sub8.

Hi all,
this is my first post in this forum as I just started producing music myself and am setting up my own home studio after receiving a phat bonus at work, hehehe. I already got everything set-up, got the DAW (Cubase 5), some VST plug-ins, and have made some tracks that sound much better than I would have expected after just two weeks. So I am full of enthusiasm
The only problem I have is with mixing part of it all, because so far Id been using just my Headphones, and what sounded good on them sounds shit on any other system. Anyways, to solve this problem I bought two Yamaha HS-80`s upon the recommendation of a friend and so far have put them on the table where I have all the other stuff. However, the vibrations are way too strong and I need to put them somewhere else.
So here is my question: How would you mount those HS-80`s? Are there special speaker stands for them? Can I use any speaker stands? Or would you use something other than speaker stands?
Thanks for the help!

before you buy something to put your monitors on you have to concider the optimal distance and height compared to your usual listening position. just on the table will most likely be too low and too close.
you can diy, or buy a monitor stand (a strong one).
-> http://www.thomann.de/at/zubehoer_fuer_monitore.html
depending on the strenght of the vibrations some iso-pads might be enough.
and you should adjust 'room control' on the back of your monitors.
maybe you also want to get better headphones or get used to yours...

Thanks!
In that link I saw that they sell those HS-80`s as a set with the Millenium 500 stands, so I guess they will work well together. Isopads wont do, my table is too unstable and as you said the speakers are too close to my head anyways.
And I got some new headphones along withe HS-80`s, before I was using my Sennheiser DJ headphones and they were way to bass-heavy. Now I got beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro, they are much better suited for production. And knowing my girlfriends sleeping patterns i am probably gonna be using them much more frequently than the speakers anyways, hehehe

Like many others are asking i am looking for a monitors for 500 euro maximum.
And thinking about:
KRK RP8G2
Yamaha Hs 80M.
I tryed to read around abit.
And also i do not have the opportunity to listen to the speakers, Hs 80 yes, but then nothing to compare with so not really much of a choice.
I do not have money to get a external base, so i want a pair of monitors with clear sound and low freq range aswell.
Anyone have a good tip?.

Same tip as everytime, save up more money, get better speakers, you will get way more out of them then and will have much more fun to produce then on cheap speakers..

But im not going to save up to better monitors.
And right now i use headphones, so which ever monitors i will buy will be a HUGE improvement.
When i make music at my friends place and even use his old not so good monitors its a big difference.
You cannot start with the best shit, but lesser shit is waaaay better than useless shit right?.
And there is always the option of upgrading.
