you really have to listen to them and not choose by what you read . when you listen to them the brigther monitors often will win, or ears will probably choose that monitor other a darker sounding one (at least for me and i think many other..cause it can sound more open and maybe detailed) but it dont mean it give you better mix in the end, it s something to keep in mind . only way to really choose your monitors withtout any regrets imo its too try them in your room but it s not easy.. maybe try asking the distributor in your countrie they may have demos pair or maybe store like thomann you can return them for 30 days (but i guess you have to buy something else in the store that cost as much ,have no idea how it works)

also passive can be a way to go,wouldn t be surprised the amps are very cheap in monitors in the 1000/2000 euro price range, buying a good amp for less than 1000 euro and some good passive monitors might give a better results. (or use some good passive monitors with a cheap amp and then update it when you have the money... have no idea but it could be a solution, maybe try posting on gearslutz to get advice on that to see if it s a betetr solution or not for your money )

I've narrowed my choice down to dynaudio bm6a and focal solo 6be.

I would like to hear more psy producers comment on the focals.

Dynaudio or focal..i'm planning to use them witouth subs.

The dynaudio seems to be a saver option as they already have proven good for psy.(a lot positive reviews/users in the genre)

but i am very interested in the focals also
...need more opinions over them. eg bass response without subs

thanks and cheers.

hey, check out my thread:
http://forum.isratrance.com/2500-to-waste-need-help-xd/

i read alot about monitors on gearsluts:
http://www.gearslutz.com/board/
in most threads they told that the focals are best in their pricerange, so i ordered them. they have big bass, you will need roomtreatment.

oh and also good psy (imo) is produced on focal twins (vibetribe). he/they bought it after using dynaudio bm6a.

The low end of the A5 is not good for bass & kick, the frequency range starts only at 55 Hz. I have the A7 which start at 46 Hz and I wish they would go down further.
Imo the A5 would definately need an additional sub.

If you buy cheap, you buy twice.

Maybe it's better to wait and save more money for a pair of monitors which would make you really happy.
Another option would be a pair like the Adam A5 now and later a sub.

for 500 euros you can get a pair of yamaha hs 80m. i like them as they have a clear sound and go pretty low. 42 Hz, if i remember correctly.

A page before you wrote that you have "a small room like 25m2 with treatments". I don't think that it's small at all.

Same as with the A5. A5x start at 50 Hz. Not optimal for bass.

I'd get mackie's MR8 - they fit your budget and sound good enough (check thomann website- they cost 209 euros a pop.).
cheers
