I know samples can be refered as a very broad thing in electronic music production..
but i mean taking audio samples from songs, movies, documentarys.. etc.
what do you use? old school.. new school..
i remember taking a class that touch this subject but that was a long time ago and at the time i was more focused on live instruments than softwares and computers .. so i cant remember shit.. i was doing it on pro tools with an analog synth.. anyone have any tips of what gear to use? software? or something.. where can i get the cracked version also  haha .. im'a broke mofo..
please enlight me people... =) please if something like this already exists delete it.. and dont mind.. i tried searching and searching the forum but i couldnt find anything so decided to post.. aiit.. peace out.

i take samples from audiobooks, mostly physics and maths, with weird theories and algorythm demonstrations ^^

download off the net.
sample cd's
or u can record movie quotes from dvd's by using Audcity
and setting ur onboard soundcard to Stereo mix
instead of mic.
this will allow all the sounds played through ur soundcard to be recorded into audacity and bounced down to wav.
or u could get a turntable and some records and record to ur hardrive.

Sound forge can grab audio track from video files, so can virtual dub, as well as some others - if you google using keywords you get plenty of software. I took a handful of samples off a dvd by cutting up the audio track, which in turn i grabbed from the dvd using some software

i use wiretap, but u have tons of software which can do that.
After i clean up my sample (noise, pops, clicks, etc), EQ, Comp, and drop in a sampler... pretty easy

I route the output to the input in my soundacrd setup and then record it live in the track while playing

I do the same if I'm recording something playing on my computer.
Otherwise if I have an audio file I just chop out the parts I need in Cubase or SoundForge

the standard recordbutton in cubase should record your audio out 1:1 that means, everything you have on your pc, you can have 1:1 in cubase.
and for downloading cracked software...
i nearly found everything with "eMule" but a little bit software knowledge you will need for installing some of this cracked programms... dont forget to buy the software you like^^
