Just reverse ur kick.
Don't know if there is a function in logic for reversing audio, i think there is, but u can use also a wave editor like sound forge or wavelab to reverse ur kick.
Sometimes u need to eq it a bit, maybe add some cool fx and there u go

There are two ways to go about this in Logic...
1. If your kick is just an audio sample that is not loaded into any sampler like EXS 24, then all you need to is double click on the sample itself and reverse it. I would suggest that you save the sample as something else before you reverse, otherwise you will screw up the base sample you were working with....
2. If it is in the EXS 24, go to the instrument editor and make a new zone with the same kick in it, but click on the reverse box in the zone information.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my question. I'm using Ultrabeat, and I wasn't able to achive the sound I was looking for, so I exported the region as a an audio file, then imported it back into logic, but, then, I could not figure out how to reverse the newly made audio region. I looked in the manual, and didn't find anything. I'm sure it's very simple. I just don't know.
Thanx, Megs.

Try double clicking on the newly imported sample so it will show you the sample in the audio editor (different from audio window) There should be a command for reversing it... I am heading to a friend's house who has logic 7 (I use 5.5) tommorow, If you haven't figured it out next time I am on, I will let you know.

Thank you Mubali, I got it! I opened up the audio window, double clicked on the sample which opened up (I'm asuming it was the audio editor) another window. Then I went to: Functions>Reverse. Vuala!
Thanx again, Mega Psyko

Talking about kicks... does anybody here remember the future music issue from last year(?) where kick sounds were covered. Some stuff analysis, eq'ing, layering and synthesis. I've been looking for that article for some time now.
If you know what I'm talking about, please tell me the issue number so that I can post-order it! Also scan of the article would be nice
I'm making a bd vst so that info would come handy...

I already know the SOS articles. Plus that search only showed percussion synthesis...
In the FM article there was a division to three different frequency bands that can be separated more or less, but I don't remember which they were. Also I forgot the eq'ing stuff. Only thing I remember is cutting between 200 to 300 hz and optionally boosting 2000 to 5000 hz or so... |

You might like to keep a copy of fruity loops handy for these thingd revers and automation are easily done. Plus you can export it as a wav or hi bit Mp3.And then bounce it into whatever sequencer you are using. |
