I'm using Ultrabeat, and I wasn't able to achive the sound I was looking for, so I exported the region as a an audio file, then imported it back into logic, but, then, I could not figure out how to reverse the newly made audio region. I looked in the manual, and didn't find anything. I'm sure it's very simple. I just don't know.
Thanx, Megs.

In the Ultrabeat the little window were you can load and see the waveform of the sample you are using is a little arrow on the right hand side you can reverse any of the samples you are using and ajust the start of it with the little bar on the lower left side of it.
It doesnt modify the actual audiofile itself.
you can also copy the voice from one channel to the other so you keep the same settings as you forward version and just reverse it.
Have fun !

Kicks with virus b?

I need some advise here. I can't make enough solid kick with virus. It's too soft... it's kinda not "on the ground". I can manage to get a snap on it, but it's way too high in frequencies. Anyone?

I use CM505(Computer Music magazine freebie version of Linplug RM.IV)and just compress it with the 'bass drum' preset in Cubase SX multi-band compressor.

with a virus c (should be the same with a b but note sure)
- Punch intensity 127
- osc bal -64
- osc1 sine wave
- osc phase init 127
- filters lp
- cutoff 14
- cutoff 2 -6
- reso 121
- env amount 94
- env att sustain realease 0
- env decay 7
- amp att sustain realease 0
- amp decay 30
it s a good starting point for a good kick, you can try lfo 1 syncro 1/4 to osc 1 pitch -32 ,unisson twin spread 0 , experiments ...

I have just uploaded a new dedicated kick drum synth here:
http://infinite-dimensions.co.uk/free_vsti_soft_synth.php

Its really simple to use, has a fantastic sound, very practical and dedicated to just making kicks. It features a nice punch envelope not unlike the access virus b and waldorf attack. The envelopes can all be modulated from linear to logarhithmic. Oh, and its free!
