i think the first kick is very strong eqed at about 350hz.
try eqing in that area on your own kick. |

yeah i've been EQ a lot and i got good results, but im still looking for a technique to shape the pitch envelopes over the sine wave, i mean, a better way than do it in wavelab (for example) |

yes it does work with everything .
i ve tried this "infected and alias" method ,but as i don t have soundforge or wavelab ,gave it a try with guru (i guess working like kontakt).got pretty good results ,just had to tweak the pitch envelope for a while .in ableton also but the pitch envelope is working differently ,(can choose from beats ,complex ,re-pitch ,tones ,textures)i guess i ll be up for more experiments this way .
did anybody tried that too(i mean in live )???
good to experiment |

Im trying to shape a kick but i dont know exactly how to do it, i have a screen of the wave here:

the first one its the kick sound i want to make, the second its my kick, i know that i have to play with pitch envelope over a sine wave, but i cant find good results.
How you do that? is it easyier on wavelab or soundforge? im currently doing it loading a sinewave at 50hz on kontakt and shape it with 2 pitch envelopes

Ahh yeaaa I loove psykick.. thanks for version 2
ahah
after trying it I can't get any decent kick sounds out of it, where I loved psykick1 and used it all the time.
I'm sure its that I am just not understanding something. |

haha,
not always
psykick2 is dirty wheras psykick1 is clean - they are not meant to operate in the same areas...
psykick2 is also a bit more difficult to set up.
But it was always meant as the evil nasty big bro to psy 1, more useful for fx and weird kicks, or techy stuff rather then standard psy.

And where is that psykick 1? I tried that psykick 2 and its probably best kick plugin I used and gui is fabolous, anyways I got to report a bug.. The synth goes crazy when I stop playing looped midi pattern of kick.. Man, fix that, it sounds like a stuck note.. And it would really be the best for some dirty kicks.. But I would also like to try psykick 1, maybe it doesnt bug me..
Yeah, what did u used to develop plugin? http://www.myspace.com/djacidkills

Hmm - odd. I will look into it.
One thing I've noticed is that if the midi notes touch each other it freaks out a bit - that needs fixing, but its not easy to do.
I use different software for different plugins - depends what I want to do.

I just got operator for Live 7. I've been using samples for kicks which is great. But I'd really like to learn how to make kicks in Operator.
I found a tutorial on youtube but it sucks.
So if there is any Ableton Live users here that could explain
how to do this that would be great. Or if you have any good links to some tutorials that would be good too.
Thanks. |
