one way:
Temporarily tune your kick up +12 semitones (1 octave), then fine tune until it sits harmonically with your bass. When you find the sweet spot, subtract 12 semitones from the final pitch.
so if you boost it +12, and then find it sits well harmonically at 11.34, set the final pitch to -0.66 (11.34-12).
Another way:
Slap a nasty distortion on your kick to introduce new upper (audible) harmonics. Tune. Take off the distortion.

hi guys...thnks for th euploaded kicks..
i have a quick question... some of these kick are 200ms and +...
I was wondering if somebody could forwrd me the steps for cutting or fading the tail of these kicks either with Wavelab or SoundForge...
I am trying to fade it out so that the kick is no longer than 130 ms..mybe 120ms..but each time i do that it looses its power...
i am pretty sure i am doing something worong over here.

why some of these kicks are in stereo...? aret the kicks suppose to be mono..?

... does anybody uses Kontakt from native instruments for kicks ??...
..i use it for kicks , snares , percussion where
you can add many instruments in different channels while all of them remain in the kontakt channel and can eq or compress them all together from the cubase ...
.. any comments about this program ?
maybe i use it wrong ,, i want to work with battery too...
if anyone have a suggestion .... thanx |

yeah i use kontakt, not for kicks though, i use it for bass.
i never use samplers for a kickdrum, i always tend to import it to an audio track. |

ive always wondered , why some people rather insert the kick sample directly into the audio channel, instead of using a sampler to further modify the sample via envelopes, filters, or midi quantization , velocity and other modulation... i use battery for that and im not trying to make u think as i do, but i dont understand why not use samplers. can u explain it further. u think samplers mess up the sound of samples in some way?

yeah i have found that battery makes my kick samples sound weaker, it could well be some settings in bettery but i am just too lzy to look.

hello friends, now im really focus on make my own kick drum sound and put it in different tracks, but using only mine, but i have some problems with the compression, im using logics compresor someone can tell me a good way to compress it???????

2 questions:
1) the pdf explain the same method of the famous Infected Mushroom tutorial?
2) maybe in the rar you can put also psykick, i like it a lot and the developer is a member of this forum
