No I don't have Battery, PoM. I could do that in another sampler, but it's just that I like my kicks ready.
Salvia, Prometheus use many types of kicks. Some, like the ones in Snakes & Ladders and Samothraki are distored. Others are cleaner (Number Cruncher). I also think he uses (slight!) reverb on them & maybe basses to get that spacey lowend. Or it may just be clever placement of other elements and using delay & reverb on them.
Anyway for the kick to stand out you've got to make sure the other elements don't mask it by choosing the right sounds and cutting them with EQ; highpass them & cut elsewhere if needed to get that snap thru.
The snappy & thick kick isn't difficult to make; you've got have the sine starting its sweep rather high (that's where the snap is), going down fast and ending low. Try Bazzism and Speakafreaka's Psy-Kick. Also remember that kick & bass work together to create that phat lowend.

tune it up, maybe 2 or 3 octaves and then play a synth on top...when it sounds intune you should have the key of kick-let me know if it works for you |
