Oh snap!
Somebody got a Mac Book Pro...
So far I love it, the only bad part right now is the Firebox mixer wont work with it.
I have a question about linking 2 macs together...
If I take over the other one will it also be sync-ed up for audio?           \\\"Invoking the inner dancing buddha with future frequencies from beyond\\\" ~GyPsy

Some plugins have an uninstaller, but more oft than not, you have to do it manually.

Using either the Finder or a shell, you will find your files under:

/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/

You will see three noted folders:

Components (this is where the AU's hide)
VST
VST3

There is also a Presets folder - the plugin may have dropped some files in there as well.

When removing the files it may require you to enter your admin password.

Another location that may have some related files is:

/Users/{user account name}/Library/Audio/...
(check VST, Component, and Presets folders there as well)

It may look complex but with care, you can quickly clean up any old/unused plugs gumming up the works.

there is usually even an library entry in home/user/application support/library..just look in that folder and search for the .plist file, delete it together with the vst file and your done..

btw i can recommend Onyx to clean your mac..

its freeware..install click on automate hit all marks there and run it..even repair disc permissions frequently may protect for unwanted circumstances..

Anyone got some real experiences with hackintosh`s ?

would like to know if they are rocksolid now..and if one could do this on a laptop as well?

is it complicated to build one? any good tutorials and hardware lists you trust in?

thanks!

I've been using them for around 4 years.

They've been rock solid only for the last few years, and today they can give much better performance than real Macs. But simply using the right components isn't enough to make it all work, you'll also have to install them in the right way. And you have to install it from original Retail DVD, because hacked distributions are very problematic in terms of stability and compatibility. After all, a Retail copy of Snow Leopard costs $29 only.

However, it's a great solution for desktop computers but not for most laptops, because of many ACPI issues. It usually takes much more work to make it run perfectly on a laptop, in most cases.

Well I guess if you're not talking about your onboard soundcard..yes.. you would need its drivers. Otherwise while installing windows all drivers are automatically installed.

Not to sure about your albino problem.

problem: my macintosh is slow compared to my pc but its just so easy with the big pretty buttons i cant help but use it and spend thousands on their software because they're too greedy to make licenses affordable to companies.

solution: get a pc

problem: my pc has a bunch of windows xp/vista/7 garbage in it i dont want. although my machines a power house for less than 1g with solid state discs running windows on RAID

solution: fix your pc

answer: macintosh expensive, lacks software and hardware power to price comparison. pc, cheap, just as stable after tweaking your OS, however, if your not smart enough to use the registry you'll never make your xp machine what it could be.           http://www.youtube.com/user/trawhi (tutorials)

Sorry man your exe files and vsts are not going to work on mac. You will have to get the AU version of the plugins.           StarLab - Label DJ/Artist for Digital Om Productions
