How in your oppinion can we make the golden days of the past return ,how can we find the lost spirit say your ideas for a united trance scene in greece and how can we regain our reputation in europe and have great festivals with visitors from all around the world like samothraki dance festival. because we have so many great places to do so and we can't. Is it our fault or goverments? and how can we fix that? |

Maybe Restore the Greek nature festival is a great begining but it needs help from all of us .Anything we can offer would give a lot of help to organisers so it doesn't stay only an utopic idea and make it work |

At first when we talk about psy-parties there's only psy-trance we should be listening.

If you only talk about Astrix and GMS then you don't have a clue about new artists that play only psy-trance!!!

i think i go since 2003-4.
i ve also been to parties where only psytrance was played...
i don t think that some similar musics played (psyprog and so) kill parties. psytrance has gone further and now many psy sub-genres exist.
psychedelic is everything a soul can state, so psychedelic more or less is any kind of music. -_-_-_-_-_-_

And when i was going to psy parties people used to wear fluo clothes with goa signs on them.Also legendary groups were producing music back in those days that have either stopped being involved in the scene in our times or have changed their music style since then.
Things evolve and change either you like it or not,back in 1998-1999 the sound of Son Kite and Ticon would be considered as house and not progressive trance and the sound of X Dream and Spirallianz could be called hard techno or something.
In our days both and many more styles of music fit into the psy trance spectrum and can be played into a party,variety is not a bad thing especially since,either we like it or not,goa music is dead and real psy trance is very very hard to find.
All the major festivals in the world from Japan and Australia to Europe and USA and Brazil feature many progressive and psy tech artists in their line ups,there is a reason this is happening and the reason is that this music has evolved.
Some (and i believe this is the majority of people) like this evolution and some others dont,well there is nothing to do about it actually and people after all choose which events they want to attend and which to not attend.
Me personally i am thankfull that artists like Atmos,Son Kite,Vibrasphere,Ticon,Aes Dana,Shulman,Freq and many more are part of the psy trance spectrum,some more and some less.

educate yourselves.. thats the 1st step to making anything better.. stop thinking (na nomizete) and start knowing (na gnwrizete).
az a 2nd step, stop uzing psychedelic/psychotropic drugz at in-door events. Most of you (especialy thoze under 25) have it all wrong all-together.
az a 3rd step, maybe stop goin to arpaxtes when u can smell one. they stink from 52 km away in most casez.. (ofcourse sometimez the wind blowz the other way, but thats another story..)
az a 4th step, but realy important one for the promoterz, if you cant make a professional event DONT FUKIN DO IT!
i will give you an example (this might b a bit long so bypass it if you "think" it iz not of importance) :
i have been djing since 1989. organized first small events (up to around 350 people) in 1991 * with :
2 x 800watt spkrz
1 x 2000 amp
2 x strobo lights
1 x smoke
1 or 2 baby-moon lights
1 x Phonic MRT70 sound mixer
and 2 x SL 1210MKII'z..
- Most of the timez i dont even see theze "toyz" in your "professional" events!! (note that we were only a couple of 15 year oldz wanting to spin some vinylz)
Then i started going to the first Sunrize, Alsos n Trancemedia events, where i saw how all this waz like on a bigger more professional scale. That road lead me a few yearz back to help on organizing n actualy building an International Trance Festival - the Main Stage Manager job title aside -
Now.. since then i have lived maybe 7 livez, and within theze livez i met alot of people, saw alot of stuff and gained valuable experience. And i have now come to the point where the following are just a phone call away:
- Native + International DJ'z n Producerz
- Powerful crystal-clear PA sound system [the kind Madonna and the likes use abroad (i wont tell u which one . if u want u can look 4 it)]
- Lazer + Light show systemz
- Private security team - to work under my specific orderz [open-minded but strict - No bullying]
- Dancerz, jugglerz, deco team, grafik dezinerz, sponsorz if needed.... the fukin WORX ! No Bullshit!
Only thing that iz missing iz a decent venue that can support all this so a 25e entrance fee iz justified!
the point to this story iz that even with all that on my back - which iz more than what most of you will ever hear not live - i have an important element missing from the equation. So I DONT DO IT AT ALL!
i am ashamed to bring a major artist to play live in a bar, without even the space to place hiz equipment (..but i have seen it many timez), i am ashamed to make an event without making sure that my sound quality n quantity iz at least decent (..but i have seen it many timez), i am ashamed to let someone sell a small bottle of water for 2e (..but i have seen it many timez), i am ashamed to pack the venue without the proper ventilation (..but i have seen it many timez), i am ashamed to advertize Hyper-Deco n hang some bedroom bannerz (..but i have seen it many timez), and to cut a long story short.. i am ashamed to ask my psy-brotherz, sistaz, daughterz n sonz, to pay me 25e+ for a big fat LIE!
This iz what makes me a proud human n Hellene!
and in case u r thinkin of tellin me that my wayz would kill the scene completely.. it iz time u bought a ticket abroad my friendz.. there iz a whole universe waiting to b discovered outside your balcony..

May i ask in which festival you were the main manager dear Anthropos?I hope this is not a secret like the soundsystem info.Very very interested for this specific answer.Was it Sola Luna festival by any chance?Maybe it was a foreign festival?
Oh and by the way with all the respect except all the things that you mentioned (artists,djs,soundsystems,dancers and a venue) the three main elements for organising a party is GUTS (kotsia),CONNECTIONS and MONEY and while money and connections everyone can find one way or another guts is not something that you can buy or find in the street.
P.S 1 Yes i can also find the soundsystem that George Michael used in his concert but then the entrance fee for the party wouldnt be 25 euros but 100 euros otherwise i dont know how i would pay for it.
P.S 2 All these years in the scene and you cant find a decent place to host a party?I mean there is no club in Athens or Greece good enough to host one of your events?
P.S 3 Too many veterans lately in the forum,sounds like Vietnam no?
