Just interested to know if anyone here uses melodyne (together with studio one) and if not, what do you use instead of it?

Please check the video about true scaling and tuning http://www.celemony.com/cms/index.php?id=products_editor&L=0#top
Do you normally pay attention to that kind of tuning? How important is that to you?

Is this generally something that can be done with any other software or is it something unique? Or just uniquely easy to do?

Studio One from Presonus is currently experiencing lots of good echo among producers (at least in Germany). I searched for discussions on that in the production forum but I did not find any. Why is that? The usability of search is not good or people here just don't use studio one that much?

I use Studio One from last year, and made good results with my work... really good daw and Melodyine integration is just perfect who works with vocalist especially... Presonus has really interesting things to offer YET in 2014 !           ---------------------------------------------

i cubase its called Vari Audio, but its not that advanced as melodyne. When working with samples or recordings in general it can be quite useful.

since i almost never use samples or do recordings i more or less never use it..           -------......-------...-..-..-..-.-.-.-.-

melodyne can be used in your daw, for example cubase too, or not?
http://www.celemony.com/cms/index.php?id=host_comp

here is the most interesting thing : how to create your own scale if you want to. just take a look ( at the advanced editing feature shown here)

see min 2:10

i think this is what i have always searched for !:)
i am totally fascinated with the integration with studio one from the moment i tried it out which is just a few days. but i can't leave it already.

we talked about microtuning recently so i just wanted to pay attention to that powerful tool.

as far as recording is concerned, well this is actually very useful for arpegiator effects that you recorded with a keyboard or midi too. but i can imagine that it is most powerful with nature sounds and bioacoustics.

or to be totally honest, this is the most interesting thing, but it does not have to interest you. just a recall to earlier discussions about microtuning.

to create your own scales you need music theory, not melodyne

honestly, there is no reason to convince "you" - i tried to convince "you" 15 years long that certain things about music are special and it never worked . no need to convince you: nothing to promote, nothing to sell, nothing to lose and most important nothing to win. or is there anything to win ?:D
the point is that it is special as a live arrangement because it is dynamical, not so much as a prerecorded track. and even if it special to me, it does not have to be special for you.

let's put it in a more structured way:

there are two "special" issues in this topic

1. melodyne and the way how it connects to studio one (which is what i wanted to talk about and ask you if you have any good hints, tutorials and workshops for creating nice powerful drums and basslines in studio one. drums and base are not what i am best at)

2. microtuning and creating your own scales for purposes like cosmic tuning and scoring according to planet transits and star constellations, which is not what i wanted to discuss in isratrance, as i have done it already through the years. . i still have something in mind, but it is a software or even better an app. this needs time and it is probably not the best thing to do at the age of thirty because there is a lot to learn before that. as i work in the mobile and web industry nowadays, i think i will be able to show you one day, why this is special. but not now. it really needs a lot of work. anyway i am happy that i came back to passion at all - because of someone i met who showed me this software...great encounter.

okey, just for those who never ever saw a line about it: http://www.planetware.de/download/Stimmdaten.pdf this is an example of why it can be that important to microtune. creating your own scale does not work that easy in most other software.

but it is not the core issue of the discussion and it has been discussed already.
the core is studio one and i am sure you know much more about it than i do, there is no question.
the question is just about how to get a powerful line with studio one.

so, you want to know how to make a bass?

http://forum.isratrance.com/the-mother-of-all-basslines-thread/

drums? every second kick comes a snare, high hat on every offbeat, and a fast highhat with 66% or 88% swing should give you a starting point.

crate your own scales? sorry i`m out their and bored to death on this cosmic stuff..           -------......-------...-..-..-..-.-.-.-.-

not how to make a bass but how to make a good powerful one. this is a fundamentally different question.
but yes, i understood already that you don't use studio one and that you never record so that no interest in melodyne exists either. indeed, why mess with boring stuff?

p.s. btw generally i believe that you are not bored with cosmic stuff but just with so much music theory that you cannot digest:) with or without cosmic scales, thinking in intervalls needs lot of exercise, exactly like understand arpegiators and sequencers.

the guy who gave me that, told me that it is THE latest development in the field of music software:). he produces since the 90ies. i agree with this because of what i've read on the internet about the way studio one deals with internal midi editing.

just look at minute 2:10 in the video. i have never seen this option in cubase. may be i just missed it because cubase has many different preferences...less is more.
