well thanks a lot for saying this, it is a rare thing in the psy forums . i stopped long time ago, because of disastrous inner relationships within the german trance scene, that killed any hope or faith in the scene. so instead of being a lone fighter, i decided to change the front. it just did not feel right any more to concentrate on that scene. and indeed i did not realize what i give and what sense it made. but in the meanwhile i realized that life does not end with 30 and we do have time to go through lots of stuff, educate ourselves, learn new things. never too late to learn how to make a nice powerful line.

with music production, i actually do feel like it is now the best time to start it again. having one foot steady on the ground through a good job, one can concentrate much more on good harware, studio equipment and recreation with music production. i have always wanted to learn more, and now the time feels right. for music. but not for the scene.

or you want me may be to do some interviews on studio one and melodyne?

That is a real shame
Nobody does anything like that ... sad

.... on the other note take my advice
i think you better go and study even a little bit just to open your mind. It will save you a lot of time if you do want to learn. Without the basics its impossible to understand stuff from reading and much more time consuming it will take you years to grasp really basic stuff namaste           http://soundcloud.com/magimix-1/chilling-forest-whispers

this is exactly what i will do. i will do a "course" with the guy who gave me studio one and melodyne. then i might come back and ask you about a good powerful line and tutorials again he really liked it as i tried studio one for the first time with my midi.

i still believe that i am really fit with music theory and classical notes and intervalls, no matter if it is about the stars or about bach or beethoven. but if you mean basics of sound engineering you are right. i have to do something fast, no time for trial and error in this field. and i finally have the time and mind to do it.
at least to speak the same language when i ask questions at the end:-).

..the last good "powerful line" that i remember was from highko and from ankur. which is pretty long time.
but a good powerful line can be anything. full power on. drifting. floating. with a substantial thick bass in the company of overtones. vortex.

p.s. it is hard to describe what a powerful line should be...but i will try it once more after the "course"

Melodyne is not only for people who cant sing obviously. take normal vocals and mangle them in psychedelic fashion to pitch shifting madnesss with more precision and control than any lfo could ever provide, take a loop or vocal acapella and change its melodic content completely. any tool has infinite possibilities           In A Society That Has Abolished All Adventure The Only Adventure That Remains Is To Abolish Society

i agree maybe i did had some negative thoughts on it because it is used for pitch correction of vocals but yes you can use it well in psychill, futurepop or whatever just hate that "i can't sing so i add melodyne" part in many mainstream music and all music in general and other pitch correction tools ...sorry it came out that way.

i think you don't really need it on drum samples basees leads etc as you have already have built in algorithms in the daws or samplers or vstis.
It became obvious to me that everything can be used on everything and you need to try and experiment so i don't dis anything really even on vocals in the right amount specialy on my vocals . but its like photoshop on vocals something like that           http://soundcloud.com/magimix-1/chilling-forest-whispers

a stupid question: is there a topic where you discussed the best chillout vst's and the most useful methods to create a sound, a good athmosphere of beats and bass, independent from ready vst's ?
