btw I have never dones speed or anything... I smoked a fair bit of wheed 15 years ago and dropped a wee bit of LsD but got over quickly... I might get drunk once or twice a month now but can;t be fucked dealing with the hangovers or come downs anymore... I can 24 hours no show full power without any of that crap haha... and I do respect the hippies, I just never respected the stealing of other cultures by Western/White society... do we really crave a culture of our own we have to go to India andThailand and Nepal to steal it?
and if you don't like my metal roots that's grand for you... but seeing as I've bought so many of your cd's in orignal format, unlike probably 90% of users here, I'd say I deserve a wee bit of respectk Ocelot as well...
I have never ever used a P2P program for anything... not one mp3, porno, movie, tv show or anything... I always pay my hard earned $$$ for the original... just as I paid the $$$ for Cubase when I"m just starting out now to get to kow production instead of downloading a pirate version, yeah it cost $1250 of my Aussie cash but I think the guys who made it deserve it...

eh - im not one to split society in merely 2 slices white and indigenous- rather low resolution story no? but i could see why you may feel that way over in australia given history etc... i urge you not to reduce the entire world to that narrative. i study history a lot. blame it all on the mongols if they never conquered asia there would be no silk road, hence no dependency on eastern goods to fuel alternatives to the silk road when it collapsed- and alternatives included rounding the cape of good hope and exploring the americas... anyway if you dont like stealing things from other cultures you better stop using about half your vocabulary, half your wardrobe, and stop eating many of your favorite foods. the world is a mess and people take whats useful over all...

i like hippy. i see it as a basically positive reform movement in society. if your blindly swinging at it expect to see this hard nosed hippy swinging back- and metal is not high on my list of fav musics nor is rocknroll in general. prefer jazz if not electronica or space sounds.

in any case- i dont think mastering is AS important as general production- its just a filter through which you hear the music...
yes it affects it- but enough so to warrant the (re)actions of this thread?

also i consider bad mastering less about tonal balance and more about minimizing distortion.
much mastering has a slightly muddy distorted sound to my ears.
the analog hi-end stuff is often the worst offender in that regard- but thats why rock and rollers love it. its all distortion there anyway...
tired of distortion and white noise.

Distortion is the thing that also piss is me off very much on modern "mastering" works specially on psy scene <--- Louder = Better!!!!! HURAAAAA i got L2, so i can make it loud <--- BULLSHIT !!!!
