Well what can i say...back in gloomy uk, but with a tan and its only April. No complaints for me had an absolute ball, although i do admit there was a bit too much progressive music at times.
The highlights for me where.Astrix, Protoculture, X Dream (was well impressed with their stage show wonderful stuff), Eskimo, Fatali, Paul Taylor, Kristian, Tamir and Fieo the Brasilian dj ...had never heard about this guy untill the festival.
The Eclipse was mind blowing had my back hairs on end Lots of insanity in the dance floor. forgot all notion of time and space . Now back to reality... For how long . |

Well, it was really nice to see many of you again, party people! =) We did it =)) The eclipse expirience on the dancefloor was a blast, full power! Many many new friends as usual, it's a greatest bonus in a whole thing, actually..
Highlights (though I got a cold flu, urgh, and missed the night stuff, mostly): Beckers, D-Nox, Total Eclipse, Hallucinogen (!! - unforgettable), Atmos, Ticon (!!! - hats off), Vibrasphere, Emok/Phony Orphants (!!), Loopus, Stella, all the suomi guys..
Son Kite was more Miniloguesque this time.. I miss that funk, though %)
Regrets:
Lineup in general - too much psypop music, (and too much crossing with very different styles).. I like some good old fullon, but all
of it I heard at the fest was incredibly boring, moving the dancefloor but like pure funny psy gymnastics, with zero deepness.. so too much prog even for me (I love it), not enough different powerful daytime music.. all the finnish guys were playing at nights, why like this?..
X-Dream: all the same, but not too original to do it again..
High prices: 180 euro for a ticket, 30 euro for a pair of simple rubber boots - are you serious? =) Btw it seems to me that there's some connection - the more we have artists with very big egos (you know the names) in a lineup, the more high prices we will have, the more cases of stealing, etc..
Chill: missed many obvious names, pure dancefloor music few times, not enough sound & not so good placement..
But all in all, again - full power! No time for whining, see you at Boom =)
..and at the next total solar eclipse, 1 august 2008 somewhere in the Altai mountains - why not?

thank you matt for all the help, truth & constant good vibes (and finding a shovel when our camp was being engulfed by the septic excess).
you were a voice of reason in a pretty unreasonable time.
if you ever decide to organize your own events, you have my full support & respect

did you find the waterbubble yet?

aloha!
here's my bit of the line up for march 31!
13:00 Shane Gobi
14:00 Shane Gobi
15:00 The Peaking Goddess Collective
16:00 Highlight Tribe
And to those complaining of too much progressive music...hmmmm...some good psyaction was happening at the second stage but unfortunately for you and for the artists, it was almost deserted...due to the born again main stage where everyone seemed to be stuck (in da mud...or possibly asleep??).
I'm definitely not a fan of the two dancefloor thing!
the Yab-Yum live act (march 30 @ night), was phat & awesome! EVP followed and I enjoyed his dj set very much!
Right on!

Correction: Slater (Tribal Vision) played right after Yab Yum.
I must say that Yab Yum was a pleasant surprise by the way. I'm normally not very much into the whole "dark psy" thing, but their set was really cool - such a shame they where put in between two progressive DJ's (me and Slater) and on the alternative stage.
Two stages CAN work though (just look at VooV), but at Soulclipse it wasn't done right. DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

oops! Indeed! thanx for the correction profane. you are right, EVP played later on (after slater i believe)....ha! that must have been the logic of the line up...one prog one darkpsy one prog one darkpsy..... brrrfff...i found it really sad for you, the artists as well as for the dancers...
oh well!

and the biggest shame was the fact that alot of the artists weren't taken care of properly, noone picked them up from the airport, noone accompanied them and aranged all their needs, sorry but in an event this large and with such a financial gain more could have been done on this front.

I would feel privelaged to play at a party like this......the artists that bitch about this sorta thing must learn to rough it up a little!
I'm also miffed that S-Range didn't play either One of the top 10 artists on my list I wanted to check out.
