as i see it all people are my brothers and sisters, no matter what culture, race, nationality, etc
but i don't need and don't want all different cultures and sovereign countries to disappear.
back on topic, i guess i just don't care if people show their nationality by waving flags on festivals. if they like to do this, why not. what's the problem. the flags don't avoid a feeling of unity, rather stupid ideologies do this.           https://www.mixcloud.com/ake_melting_runes

The most hilarious thing was the semi finals in Basket Ball at the Olympics where USA played. There was Israelis with Israeli flags (They did not play) and Germans with German Flags (Do they even have a team?). It's surely gone to far with the "Look at our flag" at public events no matter what kind.

Israelis was there becouse of the Russian team couch David Blatt he is from Israel.

Ahh that explains it Thanks

yeah I love this flag :=)

yeah this is my football club (Fußball-Club St. Pauli von 1910 e. V.) for 27 years now, i love this club.

you must be dreaming if you believe that this is just the sign of your football club. it is a sign that i guess anyone from europe knows as well as the corporate logo of coca cola or mercedes, you know. it is the sign of anyone who wants to live an alternative life in hamburg and does not live it. ) sorry if this offends you but this sign has long been stolen by the advertisement and media industry as well - as the sign of being cool and beyond the norm in hamburg. i live there now and the place where i work is full of this sign. everyone wants to be cool with it. and thinks that if he carries this on his clothes he will be seen as crazy and cool. which is not really the case. it is just another advertising logo.

and it is another reason why signs and flags fail to fullfill their goal. whatever their goal is. there are still people who dont see the goal of flags - just to give an identity to someone who woudnt feel outstanding without a flag.

by whom? i believe it is very "trendy" to love a culture of your own. not a state. just a culture.

It really all goes down to what is the purpose of a flag. It's an egoistic expression of "this is my turf". It offends people who are or once were forcibly included into this artificially created nation. At the core we are all descendants of one kin. Our ancestors just happen to departure too far away from others to maintain one language.

Now we experience a reversion of this process. For the first time in history we can travel everywhere in hours or communicate with anyone in seconds. Nations will merge and I see no reason why we should feel attached to this language or another. Nationhood, as we define it today, appeared in XVIII/XIX century. Before there were no national flags at all. It has appeared and it will vanish, as everything else in the history. Besides, it was made by people who had political agenda attached to it. It still has.

I do oppose some aspects of globalisation, even on the streets. On the other hand, I do embrace those that bring people together. It's not some agenda of evil elites whoever they may be.

Yeah, maybe I'm neo-Marxist while I really don't like Marx or his writings. It's about a progressive or conservative approach to the world. I don't want to conserve nations, I want them to disappear. We are slowly moving towards one global family and that's more "goa" to me.

Let's people be unite in music, love and understanding, but I never give up from who I am, my nationality, culture, language, long history, years of slavery, suffering and all the great men who give their life to be free, defending our symbol, flag, king and people.

As this madness continues we gonna vanish forever,so I want to keep this little I have here.

Respect others, but love mine....as far as flags and festivals goes, I'm not for that, it's festival, not olympics.

Compared to other parts of the World, I prefer socially-friendly Europe then anywhere else. But I don't mind people not being grateful for what they have. As they say, you won't know what you love until you loose it.

Besides, it's funny to see right-wingers in a scene that is full of left-leaning people.

i see it as an expression kind of thing. like if it would be an internation known party ppl would obviously take a flag of their country just to purely send the signal that someone from 'X' country is there, like saying for example: 'portugal is here'

idk, just an expressive point of view
