If you are going to this festival please aknowledge that the line-up is not correct, artists have cancelled. The soundsystem is not well-defined, has changed quite a few times. Transportation schedules have altered a few times too. Organization has split and are now fighting. Past events that involved the same organizers have failed completely. The main organizer who first promoted this event never came back to explain himself or cared to e-mail the crowd. A bunch of new people under new usernames keep the dodgy atmosphere up and going... Considering all that, if you decide going please PLEASE make an effort not to come back here with insults and bad vibes, and enjoy, sometimes the music/transportation/infrastructure are not important at all, right?  cna't find it |

Unfortunately I just had to cancel Shamanik Festival. No advance, no tiket plane...

p.s I think that JP is not bad guy.
He answer me very fast and tell me whats happens there.
But since few weeks ago Shamanik looks like another freaks festival... So probably the festival runing,
but without me for sure...

Actually, JP-Tranceshop has posted an explanation of the situation and the problems about staff & money on the french trance forum here :

I care about the records, not who's playing them dude, get real, if it's that shit I'll take over the decks with me mates and play some decent tunes.
As far as I'm concerned you're either with it (the festival as a whole) or against it. I'm with it, and if it's good it'd good, if it's not I'll try my best to make it good. I hope everyone attending feels the same, if they do, it will be wicked even if there's no sound system at all.
Calling all free party crew, bring your systems anyway. If this was UK I would call a few free party rigs and get it sorted that way. I'm going, if you want to have a laugh see you there. Dr. Don.

OFFICIAL PRESS release
All the SHAMANIK team is proud to inform you officially:
The line up of artist is confirmed at 90 % so 90 Lives acts & 90 DJ sets with travel and or cash deposit promised done.
Right now, we don’t confirm yet definitively the line up to let time to the artists to come back on their negative decision and to be able to reach a higher rate already really correct.
We are going to install a “100 KW DAS sound system in line aray” only for the main floor.
The staff, technicals workers and infrastructures installation is working well to a high rhythm it’s the reason why we can say quietly that all services promised will be ready. We guarantee that you’ll miss nothing at all comfort level, safety, technical installations, and of course all you need to enjoy the show that we are building with conviction and professionalism.
Local authority (mayor and land) is working with us upper than expected. They bring us all logistical help we need to work on the bests conditions.
We are working on the answer to all your emails (please be patient) and we are expecting you all with good vibes till 10 of July 2007 here in Avis.

i feel a bit confused... really, dizzy  what to do???  all comments in this forum looks like up and down, pozitive-negative-pozitive-negative... wooooww....it should be my first big festival with my baby... i really would like to have good experience for me and baby, well, anyway enjoy this moment of peace, deep inside of us and send the energy out to the universe and recognize, we are all one! peace and harmony |

To all the "new users", you're not helping...seeing a new user with 2 posts telling how amazing the festival it's gonna be, with a poor comand of the english language and no flag, and then another one with better english as well saying that he's a punter and he supports the festival no matter what, makes things look even dodgier, if that's possible.
That "official list" doesn't seem to be really accurate considering the fact that 2 more artists confirmed in this very thread that they're not going either... chances of not any more artist quiting looks highly unlikely.
Anyway...that's just a thought, the only thing it could help is an official word both from artists and promoters explaining the whole thing.
Otherways, this looks rather doomed to me.

How is me being positive "not helping"? I bought a ticket for the festival months ago, booked flights weeks ago and I'm going. I really don't like the vibe on this forum at all. Can I suggest everyone being negative without any real information shuts up, what's the point spreading bad rumours or hearsay when you're just speculating?
As far as I can see it is happening, all be it a little disorganised. But if it is the first time this crew have set up such a big event then there are bound to be some problems.
The changes in the lineup don't bother me in the slightest, I just wanna dance in the sun and swim the the lake.
Where's the love people?

Ok fair enough, I am also worried and really hope the organisers manage to put something together. As long as we have water, food, a PA and some DJ's provided then I'm sure everything will be fine. At least I hope it is. It would be a real disappointment if this festival fails to get off the ground.
But I'm going to stay positive and cross my fingers!

I imagine JP's pretty busy so I'll translate his story and hopefully it will shed some light on the situation.
"So here the true Story of Shamanik Festival:
My ex colleague Laurent has basically vanished since the night of April 21st. Previously he proposed to do a festival on the same site as the Boom after = Utopia at Sao Giao camp site with him and his childhood Portuguese friend who owns this camp site. His uncle is also the mayor and me at the time replied that it was my dream to organise such an event.
So I said allright: we have the place, the authorisation, all we lack is the financial backing. lol, that mythomane assured us that he would source the cash by mortgaging his house, i didn't just invent this, he said this in front of over 7 witnesses.
Since then Laurent ahsn't exactly exerted himself much and his mate disappeared, all he promised hasn't materialised, basically he's a dreamer and his professionalism ain't all that. But anyway, he assured me he'd have the backing by January 1st, and managed to keep on convincing me till beginning of June. Then he disappeared as his BS became too much and he couldn't face up to reality.
And then me, I trusted him the whole way as I thought as best friend he told me the truth! He got me in to this whole affair and has now disappeared, so as a result I found myself all alone managing the festie where initially I was only supposed to help out with booking and communication.
So I set about looking for other investors and friendly support and that's when I met Aubry who charmed me to bits and promised to find me at least 10 000 Euro's and work at catching up the delay we'd encountered as a result of the absence of my partner.
Anyway, (can't think of an English expression for this at the moment) I should have broken my leg instead of trusting him as not only did he not find investors, the main reason why he became my partner, but he was about nothing but hot air and managed absolutely nothing when he was in Paris. He instead preferred to post messages on this (sky)forum and hit on other people's women such as Leila. Anyway, he made me lose more time in Paris, then another week in Portugal and he didn't even do the urgent work like making plane reservations! We also had to move ahead here in Portugal to redo all the paperwork and authorisations which were in Laurent's name. Basically he made me waste my time, we arrived the friday evening and lost another week and as a result we didn't have the time to get all the licences done with the owners and the mayor. Sure, I should have done it on my own, but Aubry speaks pretty good Portuguese and was supposed to help as pseudo partner from sunday.
He arrives at midday when you tell him to meet at 9 am to start work, skips over files and basically fucks up. Anyway, pretty clear that with him I took more steps back than forward, and once again i lost my time, which at this point became all the more precious just before such an event!
Instead of resolving issues and bringing some positive energy to the table, he made me lose more time and when i asked him for results I discovered he had done sweet FA and wasn't motivated. As they say, when the cat's away, the mouse come out to play!
So, when i had my back turned to take care of pressing issues, he boasted to anyone who cared to listen that he was in fact the organiser as opposed to me where he did absolutely no work and didnt find investors!
Morover when I confronted him with the facts that he was being a bit of a douchebag, he didn't take it too well and started badmouthing me, which I didn't accept so it was getting out of hand, verbally and physically.
Truth hurts sometimes but I was in no mood to take this further as I had no more time to waste and wanted to, and still do, make this festival work at all cost!
Anyway, after we kicked him off the team he was supposed to go back to France, for which I still gave him 100 Euro's for his return flight, pretty decent gesture I think!
Instead eh went to the campsite and during the night returned to mine to steal my car as he had made a double of the key in the supermarket around the corner! Sadly for him the next door neighbour and the guy who made the key at the supermarket both recognised him, and both of them will be witness when he gets taken to court on the charges I have brought against him; stealing my car and personal agression.
He's still on the run but his details have been passed on to the French Police and it's only a matter of time. Soon Aubry will be up the creek without a paddle, which will do him a lot of good and cleanse him of his BS for quite some time. Hopefully it will also instill some moral values and etiquette in him.
I don't understand how I managed to surround myself so badly, true i guess that when you're down you're more prone to fall into the trap of a sweet talking snake.
Anyway, for a supposed trance lover why he set out to destroy all the communication and the magic of this festival is beyond me!
He was more concerned with all the money he could make as opposed to solving the problems at hand.
In the end he wanted to be the one giving the orders, not taking them. All this has made me chuckle quite a bit and i did not accept such behaviour, especially when he's cruising on forums all day while I bust my ass 14 hours a day and didn't really have time to go online and read all the messages.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway, currently Shamanik Festival is saved and will take place as I have found some real people here in Portugal who have brought me immediate solutions to the problems which so much worried all the people in (this) forum and the artists alike!
Right, so it's clear that I'm not perfect and I'd never imagined ending up here, but I held it together and gave the best of myself. Trust me, I've bent over backwards to make sure this festival will take place!
Today we're in full set up and all the artists are confirmed! We're finishing paying the last of the plane tickets as we didnt have all the passport info, and we're slowly but surely solving all the little problems of unpaid deposits so all can be present!
For all the French DJ's who's plane ticket I wasn't able to pay due to a lack of liquid cash, I tell you come my friends, if I booked you it's above all to put you on the scene and to give you the opportunity to play at such a massive festival!
Moreover if you come on your own accord I give you my word that I'll pay you back at the festival.
Those who know me know that even when I'm in trouble I always settle my debts.
To those who've read this well take with them the full meaning of it (French expression, not too sure how to translate)
So, meeting the 10th at night for the Shamanik with only good vibes and energies!
