the psy scene over here is getter bigger and bigger with every party! one party last year recorded over 500 people(that's massive for perth), and there is one on next weekend that is expected to get more than 500 people. it's gonna be the last big party before the cold hits, then there will be barely any doofs until around october.
during the summer there is around 1 party every month, sometimes more sometimes less.
and madpup, the only reason namaska have such a monopoly on the scene here is because they are the only ones that put any REAL effort into their parties. plus they are the only crew that is ALL psytrance. the other doof crews seem to be infested with breaks and house, with only a little bit of psy.
ChoBo, the scene here is great. i arrived just in time to watch it start growing, and i wouldn't swap it for any other scene in australia. the people are awesome!
PS.... look out for October 30th. i am in the process of booking one of the biggest psy acts in Australia to come play in perth. i'm hoping to make this the biggest and best doof perth has ever seen!  |

okay ... melbourne is pretty awesome ... I don't live there (i'm from the north coast <of new south wales>) but ...
melbourne is the place to be for summer this year (hopefully i will be towards novemberish) ... tribeadelic new years eve is ALWAYS a time of crazy, crazy, awesome happenings ... and then there is earthcore and rainbow serpaint .. very good festivals, with many great people from all over the planet ... .although earthcore is not only psytrance (unlike tribeadelic which is pure psychedelic madness!! <sp?> !!!) , which gives it somewhat of a different vibes, but the line up this year is very TWISTED, hehe ... oh yes, and there is always a few decent "DOOFS" on each weekend (both outdoors and indoors, although winter is mainly indoor, and summer mainly outdoor)... top quality, great people, ect ...
but i might also add that northern new south wales if pretty fantastic .. great people, KILLER dJ's (franny, lauhchpad my faves) completey psychedelic parties, often in the most beautiful of locations).... and while your there .. north of the border has been picking up of late (gold coast hinterland, brisbane)... but my recommendation is to find byron bay .. and then go inland .. spot the freaks (which won't be to hard) and find the good times ... hmm, thats all i can comment on ... i'm sure sydney's scene is pumping .. .but i haven't been there before !!!! ....
the police aren't too bad, in comparison to what i have read on this, and other, forums about other countries ... although the sound is sometimes reduced at the odd party, but mostly its no problems

I wish to have a nice festival "Earthcore " is gonna be the first one..uhauhauha !!

I am planning a vacation to Australia and will be putting up in Brisbane.
Can you brief me with the Psy scenes in Australia and some interesting places where i can find psy culture and good gigs.
And what is the season time...
Info will be appreciated

the psy scene in oz is pretty good and interesting....not as big as one mite xpect...but the level of dedication these psy lovers have towards psytrance is amazin...if u gonna be in brisbane check out cairns , these people have some killer outddor parties in the rain forest,i reckon the best time to be here wud be from dec till feb,with tribadelic gathering on 30th-31st dec and rainbow serpent festival(oz biggest trance festival) from 21st - 25th jan..u can also chek out the sites www.australiens.net or oztrance,they have lot of info...and if u planning to cum around to sydney..u can pm me.. |
