Hey to all the aussi's on the Forum.
I want to make a trip down to australia but I have no information about any parties........
When is the main season for the best parties there.............
Is the full country into having parties or is it that parties are happening only in one part of the country..........
Plzz keep me informed Boom......

Hi psycho. 
The best time to come to Australia is around our Summer (Nov-March) This is when you'll find most parties on, especially bush parties. There are parties everywhere but mainly up the east coast, from Melbourne to Cairns. The main concentration though is in Melbourne, Sydney and Byron Bay, with Melbourne probably being the largest psy centre. During the colder months most parties go indoors but you'll still find a bushdoof somewhere as a little cold will definitely not deter the party faithful.
There are a few resources online that list what's on throughout the country, some being http://www.oztrance.com or http://www.australiens.net
I'm sure some other Aussies on this board have more to add but I hope this basic stuff helps

I definately agree with gum nut between NOV and FEB are our best parties Earthcore, Rainbow Serpent are two great annual parties Earthcore being in NOV and Rainbow being in JAN plus they always throw in a few more for the mix!!!

yep between October to March/April theres usually LOTS happening..
in Sydney, even during winter there is still outdoor parties - not as big (punters) as in Melbourne, but stompin still the same...
u can have a look at the parties over the last year or two at www.ozdoof.com the catergories are divided to Indoors and Outdoors psy events..

im from india and planning to visit australia in late march......... never been there before dunno know which place to stay in wo
would anyyy one plase fill me in on the PSy scene out there....where the killer parties are and which places are famous for the parties

Hey Stashbag,
Melbourne has the largest scene in Australia, with the most amount of parties and international acts. Sydney isn't far behind - less people, smaller scene, but the parties are still very good and with a great atmosphere. The Byron-Gold Coast-Brisbane area has a lot of parties but generally they aren't so big. The rest of Australia has occassional parties, but nothing compared to Melbourne or Sydney.
You can catch Protoculture in Melbourne on March 20th, or Sydney on March 27th. There are also large Earthcore parties in both cities being planned for April, featuring Koxbox, Saikopod, James Munro and Dick Trevor. So both places will be pretty rocking - probably more parties happening in Melbourne, tho. |

Hi friend, I will be in australia too in march 2004, I ever been there 2 years ago, and It's sure I will stay on the gold coast, and Byron bay.
I am looking for a partie trance!!!!
I don't like staying in big city for my holliday!!!

In Sydney, there are about three or four parties a month, with one or two of them having big international acts. Between now and the end of April we have Infected Mushroom, GMS, Protoculture, Koxbox, Saikopod, Dick Trevor and James Munro all coming up.
The scene is not big and not small - between 300 - 600 people at the average party, more for internationals.
I'm sure you'll have a good time here. |
