well i dont think that there will be something connected with psy trance during these days many people are going to Aurora Festival in Greece but around the sea side there will be a lot of other parties (techno and progressive i suppose)

chek: www.ouim.org , www.techno.orbitel.bg

this happens every year in rila mountains. this year i guess i will try to attend again. it is not only trance based but it says a lot about the scene in bulgaria.....

i was born there and i usually try to visit bulgaria at least once a year. this year a friend of mine is organizing a bigger festival, trakia psyfriends festival. i guess many of you here in this section could think of visiting the festival.....it will be fun and it will be something quite different from other festivals...

bulgaria has a lot of beautiful places ( you see also the beaches where my birthplace is), there you can only find totally underground hidden parties, with smal pa's in a small house on the beach.... it is nice....

and btw i guess that a lot of freaks in this section feel sometimes in a similar way like me....the tracian culture is much older than the greek and the roman culture but it is so often underestimated by the scientists...
i love the greek culture and i even studied it for two years in an university but i think it is often underestimated that the tracians lived before that and were the roots for many of the believes in the greek pantheon....
oour goal for this festival will be to reunite the tracian spirit and to revive this ancient culture.

https://trakia-psyfriends-festival.com/Home.php

here is the first version of the website for this festival.

IMPORTANT:
please, all freaks from the balkans, feel free to contact me if you want to participate in the project with visuals and vj-work.
VJS ARE NEEDED!

i will be projecting theme movies as well as my own visual material in a special tent. anyone who wants to participate in that, be very welcome for a collaboration..the organizer prefers of course people from the near countries because of keeping the budget for travelling expenses lower...

just a short note: i got a few mails about djs.
just wanted to say that i am not the organizer of this festival , i am not responsible for the djs either. i just know the guy who is organizing it, he is a good friend from swiss. and i am helping him with the projections a little bit. so if you want to direct any mails about djs and lives, please contact him. i am just looking for VJs and people who want to collaborate about the trakia project.

love and light

p.s. and btw i can only hope that it will not be the same thing like the previous two big festivals made by foreign organizers who turned to be a flop. i can at least guarantee that the guy is very positive soul and puts his whole energy in that....

it is very cheap to be there believe me. this summer ( i mean 2008) i went on this wild trip to Eastern Europe after graduating ( Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey and Greece) and i did it with almost absolutely no money. It was one of the most cheap trips ever - only hichhiking, the strangest hichhiking trip since 10 years, eating food from the villagers to very cheap prices or no prices...sometimes horses from the villagers...
I was only with a tent on my back and some lenses or rice for the fire place at the night and this was it. The only thing i really missed in comparison to Germany, where i live now, is that i had nothing good to smoke.....

It is still wild in this regions....Really....
The cities are awful, europized....they are even as expensive as the western cities in the meantime....
But the mountain places are beautiful...Take care to visit it, may be you will not have this chance for long, since the big companies start to invade the rural places with building plans....

Btw i can recommend you some alternative villages, where you can volunteer to help...Supported by governments...I met many foreign people in this places...Actually i had the most fun with the visitors from abroad during this trip...Let me know, if anyone wanna go, we can travel together, it will be fun. I am going for two weeks very soon again. Spring trip. Have to arrange something with burocracy there.

Anyone , you wanna travel with me?:)

you have one as well:)
i am thinking to travel for some days on the 01.03. then there is a special spring ritual which is one of the oldest ritual held in this place. it is called kukeri and it is a special dance to send the bad winter spirits away and to attract the spring spirits of fertility. here a pic: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2158/2312749832_d92cbbb38d.jpg?v=0

not sure if i will make it on that date but i think i could use the opportunity....and btw there is a bigger party these days as well...
