YES YES YES my friend. Guns don't kill people-people kill people using guns. And do you know who carries a weapon?-insecure and menthally unstable people. They are everywhere and it would be much safer if this fucking law was abolished.

Condolences to the people affected by this unfortunate event.

This is horrible. Guns should be illegal no matter what. According to statistics most shooting are committed with legally purchased weapons.

In most US states anyone can legally purchase a hunting gun (shot gun, etc...). How Fu***ed up is this.

We no longer need to protect ourselves with guns. We have an army for that. So I think that guns should be illegal. If you like hunting and like chasing animals in the forest get a fu***ing photo camera and try to take a picture of that animal instead.

Remember that GUN HAS ONE PURPUSE - TO KILL.
Is this really where our civilization in going?
What's wrong with the world? What's wrong with our politicians? Why do they keep making music and parties illegal when you can legally purchase a weapon that kills people?

Does anyone agree?

As with most violence in the world - it starts with fear - and until we learn to respect each others' views instead of fearing them, the world will not change. I would really appreciate it if anyone who DID know how to set up a Paypal account for the purposes of donating to the victims' families would speak up - it's a great idea. 'Course, then we'd have to know how to get in touch with them. Any ideas?

I was directed here by paradigm. I live in the bay area but am from Seattle and am close friends with two of the four housemates who live there. I spent Christmas at the house at a small afterparty unwinding from all the crazy family stuff.

I lost a close friend to this killer. But what hurts me even more is knowing my friend Erin, who had finally found the man for her, now has to live with the memory of seeing him blown away by a shotgun blast.

As for setting up a paypal account, initially I didn't see how any money could make this situation any better. But then I thought about how much funerals cost these days. And the sad thing about this situation is on almost account, it's going to be parents burying their children instead of the other way around.

I've been waiting until the initial shock of the even fades a bit before calling my friends who were in the house at the time. They've been having to deal with the police, media, and their own nightmares for the past couple of days. But I think now is the time to help them through this difficult time.

I'll ask around to see if there's anyone putting together a fund for the family members and will get word back here.

I agree with Hidro, we all need to PULL together; this is a tuff time for both the family’s and the community (that is a family). With a little help from everyone the true meaning of community can be shared with the people who really need it up in Seattle. We need to let them know we feel for their loss and share part in their loss as well.

\\ The surviving housemates of the Capitol Hill shooting (their roommate, Jeremy Martin, died in the hospital) have set up a paypal account for the families of all the victims.

You can donate at paypal.com to the e-mail address 2112relief@gmail.com.

2112 is the number of the house where the shooting took place. You can also e-mail that address if you don’t have a paypal account and would like to donate another way. //

This small newspaper seems to be the only one to have spoken to multiple people involved in the horror.... and ironically enough, is the only one that isn't rehashing another article, nor being negative about electronic music, the people who attend EM events, or really negative about anything at all. They are quite supportive of those who are still with us.

I'm going to donate to this account next paycheck.... I'm sure that the people who lived in that house won't be able to go back for a while... and when they are, they won't want to. I wouldn't.

As I have said previously, I pray that this situation never happens anywhere, ever, again.

@Manx send them our condolences. times like this let you know how big your family (whichever one you wish to refer to) really is.... and how important they are.

Thanks for the paypal link.

On thestranger I read this article, which seems to be a good narrative of what happened.

http://www.thestranger.com/seattle/Content?oid=31345

Some stranger was invited to the party and, apparently, shown nothing but kindness. On another message board he was also asking about where to find a rave: http://books.dreambook.com/groovinkim/seattleraves.html

no words, no words.

I've heard the story from the only living eye witness, and I'm filled with sadness to think about his life with those memories.

Nobody will be returning to that house. At first I thought money is needed for funeral expenses. Now I understand it's much more than that.

I can vouch that the paypal account for 2112relief@gmail.com goes to the family of the dead and the survivors who are currently living a hell few of us could comprehend.

I wish I could be in Seattle to be with my friends!
