Your are right, but one thing you have to realize

"Psytrance scene" is not = "Psychedelic Scene"

Psytrance is music made for the psychedelic scene, to be experienced in the psychedelic scene.

If not experienced there, it is like listening to opera or classical music at a very noisy contruction yard... Impossible to appreciate the music and its effect.. Actually, its a big damn shame.

So, its not as easy as you would have it to be.

If you really dont have a scene where you are at, you must take responsiblity and build one. Thats why we have a scene here, because we actually did that.
Find someone who likes it at as well, make parties together, dance together. Slowly invite more people, and get them grooving.

2 years from now, I promise you, it will be kicking ;-)

Believe in it !

....um thanks?
it is building, houseparties and open-deck nights at bars, psy-parties every....3 or 4 months....that's not enough.

I was simply saying, as i read about the parties all over the world (everywhere but here), that even if there are "rockstars," it's better then nothing at all.

The point is, that even though you have big parties with "psytrance" it does not mean that you have true psychedelic trance parties.

So, unless your into faking it and delluding yourself, yes, nothing is sometimes better.

At least nothingness has potential for creation, but when there is already something which is imitating what you want to create, the creation of what you want is harder - since you have to deal with an already existing scene. A scene in which you, I might add, will have a hard time creating the vibe you want or even getting people to acknowledge that it is at all possible to get the vibe you have in mind.

In brazil, and other places, "psytrance parties" look and feel like rock events at times. Its true.

You cant just take the music and slap it on a party and expect a real psychedelic party to be the product.

If only it was that easy though.

Better with 2 people going berserk together in a room to music they both love, than 1000 people behaving and acting like they are at a rock concert - hands in the air, screaming etc - no dancing, no vibe, no psychedelia etc etc.

Better 2 people and a real experience than 1000 people and a fake one.

Too many rockstars at your parties ?

no, not enough parties!
Western Canada...eek.
when we do have parties they are KILLER and no "rock stars" in sight
but yeah, at least you guys have it steady

Ever heard of quantity and quality going hand in hand ?

In case not, you have now, and believe me, nothing could be closer to the truth when it comes to psytrance parties.

Few parties = Good Vibe
Party every weekend = Shitty Vibe

i think its just fear. people are afraid to open up and be themselves so they act closed and snobby.
snobbery is generally fear...
unfortunately this reflects the problem in society in general...
i often wonder to myself- imagine im in a city of say 1 million people- just where do we all "get off" acting like complete strangers to each other? any other species would be sniffing each others butts and going HEY! some of my kind! hey! what are you up to? what are we doing? hey! etc...
but somewhere in this whole "modern" thing we got the idea to pretend like we dont see each other and keep walking.
now there are reasons for filters and all- for example you might not want to get mugged...
bingo. fear.
i'm not saying there is ENTIRELY no basis for this fear-
im saying that imagined threats- often unformed ones that seem silly - like "they will all laugh at me"
are the basis for fear which is the basis for rockstar attitudes...

i met this girl once at this electro party and she was telling me that she already knew all the people she wanted to know.
somewhere, someone must have either BURNED her badly or she was just acting like she had been taught to act- COMPLETELY IGNORANT.

anyway- at a trance party- we all know this is completely irrational... but still, someone may be in a sensitive state of mind and to them there are threats present when people try to communicate with them... etc...

the best thing to do is be kind and try to ease the boundary issues.

then dance like no one is watching, and have fun, and generally connect with all the other smiling happy people and make the group vibe better so that the uncomfortable people feel more at home...

thats what i think...

where i'm at we have 2 or 3 parties every weekend and you still find excellent vibes maybe it's bc we have a big scene here and there are always happy smiling people wanting a party every weekend...

from what i've read i've come to the conclusion that the party scene is different in every country and what is considered by someone to be a bad attitude is the most common attitude in other places. the important thing is that in parties people should do whatever they want (respecting other people of course) and no one should worry about what others are doing

and i totally agree with ocelot
When I dance, I put myself in the DJ's hands to take me to a journey - the unconscious journey to reality

KARKEIJA KREW!!!!!!!! dancing is the phrr fo da powa
