They new "copy-prevention" system they just recently introduced can be by-passed by simply HOLDING DONW THE SHIFT KEY.

http://biz.yahoo.com/rc/031007/media_bmg_protection_1.html

I'm sure this won't stop the idiots from wasting more money in another attampt to try to stop copying. But what the high-paid suits don’t realize, and what I have realized all along, is that there is NO way to stop copying! So, instead of accepting this and figuring out new methods of distribution, and also accepting the fact that you executives WILL have to make less money,(same goes for you Hollywood producers), you'll keep going the same route and try to stop people 10 times smarter than you at a game that they will always win. You are digging your own grave.

Oh, and another thing you could try. STOP PUTTING OUT CRAPPY MATERIAL. Start looking for real talent and not just anything that comes along. Same goes for Hollywood too. I'm sure your movie sales and records sales numbers have nothing to do with the fact that YOU CONTINUESLY PUT OUT GARBAGE.
I can assure you that the record companies are not conserned about the artist, but thier own executives. Soon, the artist will not need the record label - The saga will continue.......

i don't think it's the people at the record companies that produce the copy protection software..

anyways i'd love to see 100% working copy protection software..

it sure would boost psytrance sales like 1000%           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

Im not talking about THAT Detox, I’m saying there will always be someone smarter to "CRACK" there prevention methods, not that there smarter for trading illegally. Im talking about the fact that record companies think they will outsmart the ‘hackers’. It Won’t happen -they need to think of NEW ways to make money through new methods of distribution - cause in the end, record companies will be all but obsolete. And an artist will only need little more than themselves to distribute music. If you don't believe that, you mine as well type your reply on a typewriter and send it to me in the mail because you’re just holding on to the past.           no sig

As long as it makes me able to make mp3 192kbps using LAME copies for myself, no problem.

Vertigoa there is always someone smarter than ourself in this world.

The point is that the people have to understand by themself that they must not copy music and not the record companies to find new ways of copy protection!

And artists will never be able to distribute their own music all around the world, they have to stop producing music in order to do that and ofcourse they will fail in any case.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

Elysium, don't sound so frustrated man...cheer up !!
actually, I think Ron is right. the prices are way too high, and the quality of most of the music released these days is constantly going down IMO...
and btw, "spoiled rich brats" usually likes House music, not psytrance....
keep it psychedelic...!!!

Why is that? Why do you need to mp3 your cds? Can they someday outsmart the hackers? Sure why not? A better solution would be to go after gem and all the other ripper groups.. Can't be that hard.. Sue them, sue the ones that follow them.. after that maybe there won't be a next one.. If gem group would someday be brought to court they would have to pay hundreds of thousands of euros.. sure would teach them a lesson =)           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

and with that they might get a nice and fat movie deal that would turn them instantly to myths...

traveller - clicking a mouse button is easier than putting a CD in the drive, and my CD-ROM sucks anyway.
What about a shuffled play of all the music I got?

Drope - being a myth doesn't help you when you're in jail..

Mike is right - when you buy a CD you should be able to make mp3s of it for yourself (i always do... my cd is noisy, horrible, and my cds always get lost/borrowed... i cant be bothered with them... much easier to have 20GB of music on hdd and never have to leave my seat

but if you can do that, then you obviously cant have "perfect copy protection"

thus we come to detox's point, the only way copying wont happen is if people have the MORALS to not copy.

unfortunately, i think its naive to think that will happen...

thus overall i think VertigOA's last post is about right.           http://www.dartrecordings.co.uk/

First of all, I´m not defending anyone or anything...

I don´t think anyone is going to jail, they might pay a fine, sign some papers saing they´ll never do it again and go right home catch mama´s dinner...

And if they do... I don´t really care about them personnaly, I´m saing myths tend to influence pp... there might be 10x more groups in the day after saing they do it in their behalf...
