Its not about being among the elite of rich and famous or not,its about being able to make an economic plan and be wise on spending your budget,and if you think that you dont have enough money then you can always get a second and even third job if needed in order to satisfy your needs and wishes.
If you want to download music for free just because you can do it (unlike a new pair of shoes or a new jacket or car that you cant just download using your bright new ADSL line) then do it ok BUT PLEASE DONT COME IN PUBLIC AND SAY BULLSHIT THAT MUSIC IS A GIFT AND NOT A PRIVILEGE FOR THE ELITE.

So like you can understand i dont have a problem with people that download music or dance to mp3's but i have a big problem with people coming in public and saying that music has to be free and that is made from the people for the people.
Cars are also made from the people for the people but i dont see anyone getting a car for free.The same with clothes they are made from the people for the people but where do you see them offered for free to us?People just download music for free BECAUSE THEY CAN DO IT,the same with video games,the same with movies,the same with software programs and some other stuff.So what video games suddenly became a necessity for people?Or did the new Batman movie and new Windows XP need to be in every house on this planet?People dont pay to buy them just because technology allows them to ACQUIRE THEM BY USING ILLEGAL METHODS,nothing more nothing less and trying to justify all these illegal downloading by saying that 'music is made by people for the people' is just a joke trying to explain your unethical and illegal actions.Why dont you guys go tomorrow to Nike Sports Outlet and try and steal a new pair or shoes or a new t shirt or a fancy jacket?They are made by people for the people no?And actually people need clothes more than music no?Yes they are but you have to pay for them (like you should with music and films and software) but because its not easy to get arrested for stealing music on the net (unlike stealing goods from Nike Sports Outlet with the guards and cameras inside) you pay for what you cant steal and just steal for what is not easy to get arrested.
I am not the saviour of the trance scene or any scene,i just do my thing and try to help this music the most i can,some people like what i do and some dont but i just keep on doing my thing.
And if all labels and artists quit you will still have music to listen,after all every sound can be considered as music from the singing of the birds to the sound of the wind but do you really wish to see all labels and artists quit what they do?I really dont think so.

What do cd releases and parties have in common?Absolutely nothing speaking businesswise at least.
Releasing a cd has its own costs and organising and promoting a party has its own costs also.Both costs are not connected and need to be covered by different audiences.
I pay to release a cd so if you want to listen to it you must pay also to purchase it.
I pay to organise a party so if you want to attend this party then you have also to pay for the entrance fee.
Noone obliges you to either by a cd or attend a party but if you wish to do the first or second or both of them then you have to pay like i also pay for both projects.
And by the way to prove to you how wrong your sentence "you take money from party and i dont pay for cds" really is i will mention to you two things.
Do you think that i release my cds having in my mind the Greek crowd?Its a matter of luck if any Greek label sells more than 50 copies of its release all around Greece.All these cds are mostly planned for sale to other countries such as Japan and Germany for example.Yes the sales in Greece are also important and a huge thanks to the people that support Greek labels but our country comes in the last places of the trance market.So how does a cd release that is mostly planned for foreign markets is connected to a local party planned for the support of the scene in my city Athens for example?The answer is simple,no connection at all.
What if i wasnt involved in the party business?What you would say then?And what can you say to people from other labels like Spun Records or TIP World that dont organise parties in Greece (so you dont pay any money to them so they cant earn from the parties that you go) but you still download their music releases from the net?Do you have any words for these people?According to your philosophy mate you are speechless now.
I am not against people downloading music from the net,i understand that we live in expensive times and that people most of the time want more than they cant afford and need,its called greed and its one of human kind biggest problems through history.Its ok i am greedy also like most of the people in this forum (not to say all) but i try to limit this addiction of mine and everybody should do the same if you ask me.I would like a Ferrari also and i know that if i go outside and steal a bank i will probably be able to afford such a car but i just dont do it because i think of the consequences,you people should think the same about music and what you cause by downloading everyday 4-5 different albums using your fast internet lines.
Recently i read somewhere a poem saying 'We buy more,we enjoy less' just sit for a moment and think about it and try and connect it with your habbit of downloading 5 albums every single day ending up with huge ammounts of music that you will probably never manage to listen and enjoy.Just think about it and ask yourself whether its better to have 30-40 mp3 albums a week that you will listen while pressing fast forward on your stereo or if its better to have 2-3 albums a week that you will fully enjoy and appreciate taking your time in your room,in your car,on your bed or even while taking a walk in the park having your headphones on.
Just sit and think...

You see Eskimo mate like you also aggreed in the end i am right.
And you are also right cause we live in difficult times and our pocket doesnt allow us to have all the things that we wish for.
So i suggest to you to do your thing and download your music but keep it for yourself and avoid coming in public places and being very proud about it because what you do is not the best thing in the world 
Admitting that you download music simply because you dont have the money to buy it is ok about me but those that come online to say that music must be free and other stuff like that are just irritating not to say insulting towards the others that pay to buy their music or the people that pay to have their music released either they are label managers or artists or whatever.
Just buy some cds once in a while,nothing feels as good as the original mate

i think that when you really like something you will buy it! 2 reasons:
1st to help the label to make better releases instead of get close
2nd mp3 doesnt achieve the quality of audio cd never ever
even at 320 kbps

Detox mate ,I understand your point of view totally-especially once you are the owner of a label-BUT what u said about music being a privilege for the few (the elite) thats what bothered me .
I guess it just triggered some sort of reaction inside me-cause I really believe that every1 is entitled to an equal share(we do live in a world of many&plenty) but when one wants more than what he deserves ,some other will have less.
dont let this sound political or anything.its just about balance.
What u said about cars ,clothes etc,it is not quite the same thing (IMHO) :music is supposed to be an artistic creation,something u cant touch,taste ,smell or drive 
Music is something u feel ,and yes it is a necessity (it always existed,both for the rich and the poor -when the poor couldnt afford to attend a "concert" they would come up with new ways to listen to music)and it is a gift from the artists to the audience.If an artist releases an album just to profit from it then that artist can bent over and . . .
Ahem!where was I ?Oh yes,artists and their motives.Take for example the greek music scene (greek pop)I dont think that there are any of them making music so that they can share their feelings and thoughts with their audience (an audience that doesnt choose or critisize what they listen to ,anyway)
they are in it for the money,the fame and most of them (with the dillusion of being singers or actual artists!!!  )are in it for their "PSONIO" .THEY are of no interest to me ,THAT is why i am into THIS scene -for the feeling and authenticity of the music,the ppl behind the decks and those in front of .And when I read comments like yours i get dissapointed cause i really dont want this "outsider" feeling of this music to fade away..
Again its just how i feel-not trying to convince u or anyone otherwise.

hello all and happy x mas! i agree almost with everything i read before on this topic ! the only think i can say about buing cds is that u need an extra job if u want to be updated and buy all the stuff u like! especially for vinyls! personally i buy almost all the cds i need in my case with the few money i take every week but it is real hard when u play and not get paied with the excuse of party failure! copies kill our scene ok so let only the lotto winners play music!
can somebody give me some dj names that have all the music in their case original?

For me, vinyl is cheaper since it provides the option to avoid buying the rest of the tunes on an LP/compilation that I am not going to play out/enjoy listening to.
Anyway you look at it though, digital download is the future.

about the copies the problem is general..
last years the music industry & realeses goes more to commercialism..shamanic tunes slowly slowly dissapear..there is no magic into the music anymore..
the whole scene loosing the spirit..there are so manydifferent kind of dance music,,so many labels,so many different tastes..
