Well as usual artists dont exist.
They do all the job and they got nothing in all the years of music history.

That's a bit over dramatic. Artists get the plasure of making music, they get the pleasure of making other people happy with their music. Yes artists work and study hard in order to learn how to use all the software/hardware. They do spend their years in front of the computer, they literaly grow older in front of their gear. But if you asked me, I would not have it any other way.

1e/per cd is shit man, just shit, and guys who mix others music are just the gods earning more than 150e the night.
I d like to notce that local djs are just changing cds pushing 4 buttons. No gigs with THEIR written music.

If you are unhappy with the financial situation, do not want to get a dayjob that will preserve your favourite hobby/pass time/art and want to make money from your music, you have to see your self as a product and promote your self. A producer's ability and success, stretches outside the walls of his/her studio. Times have changed and the market has never been more competitive. You have to get out, meet the people that will help you achieve your goals. You have to be a "GO GETer". There are not enough gigs and people have to run around to get bookings. If you stop, the next guy is going to pass you by.
It is simple really. You are either a part of the music business and "when in Rome you do as the Romans do", or you expres your disgust towards the music industry, distance your self from it and stop complaining about not making enough/any cash from it.

I have to say only one about the Djs(not artists and projects)
If you do this job for money you must be very lazy guys
Go and find your self a real job.

distributions kill ur pockets not the labels
distributions they deside how much they sell it
And after the owners of the shops they deside also how much they will sell it
and we have 19% tx,dont forget
On the rest countrys like germany ,france etc they have 16% tax
So for that in greece they sell more expensive than rest countrys of europe
cheers

regarding the cd/vynil discussion...

i'm very sad that MD wasn't so much commercialized in order to hv albums or 'professionnal MD-players' with pitch...

i love its sound, ok pocket MD players are fragile but still... practical way for recording and very CLEAR sound in my opinion

atrack3 (sony's mp3)algorithm is like mp3 in 224k its good to listen but not good to play in big systems also atrack3 has a big loss in db (like3-4db) so anything in 0db in cd quality will become -3-4db less when compressed in atrack3 not the best in terms of volume and quality but a very good compression method!

mate i was md fun but it has a processor that writes not the real sound of the source you copy and it has problems also with some frequencies and if your write analog the sound really sucks!

As for the prices of cds!
come on guys with 100 euros you got dsl for 2 months so u can download music, movies
anything you like and want!!even if the prices would be lower lets say 5 euros net connection its better for your pocket!!!
so i dont beleive that the problem is the prices!!!
cheers@@@@

ok 1 more post.. i like this topic

lets say.. i write muzik. ..and lets say i sell my muzik to the labelz..
what do i get out of it? i think its something like 1000e more or less.. then i throw a party to celebrate the release with my friendz, and its gone !!
..meanwhile my muzik goez to the stores through some distributorz or whatever.. and when a cd sellz, i'll get a small percentage, which will not allow me to live on it.. right? i will have to get a gig to put some real money in my pocket.. right?
so to do that, i have to get the people to hear me and then decide if they like me enough to come and hear me when i play..

some kind of marketing.. lets see.....
i will uze the IN-TER-NET !!

he he.. believe me, i can reach more people on line than in the stores.. it iz more direct and it will not change anytime soon..

i will uze this excellent tool and i think it will be for the best           -----------------------------------------
it's ON !!

my man i was talking for the normal recording no long play or anything !
just to inform you minidisk is compressing the file in a 224kbps file so it can fit ex. a full trance cd in that small little disc if it would be so easy to fit all this data into a minidisk with no loss in the quality why the hell is normal cd's still in the market??

dont get confused of the nice sound minidisk is providing and before posting about quality and minidisk is better to read a little before!!
please dont get offended im just correcting your mistaken believes about minidisk!
