what differs from different cultures for example the hippies... well i think one remarkable thing in this example is oppinions about stuff..

well not all people are used to see alternative people..just give them a happy smile on their way on too their office or whatever they do
but agian not all who call themselfs hippeies or what you wanna call it are as openmined as they/we are known for is my experience ..had some rather rude coments from some of those people from time to time on about the way i look and spend time in bed with..

If you dont want people to criticize the way you dress then dress like the people whose criticism bothers you. That way they cant criticize your style because then theyd be insulting their own style too.
Here are your basic options
Be counterculture and dress counterculture (at least they know what they are)
Be counterculture and dress establishment (chamelion style)
Be establishment and dress counterculture (the vilest of us do this)
Be establishment and act establishment (at least they know what they are)

in the begining of rave scene at 90 media was presenting a new fashion stream with nice words...now dance festivals are presented by media as drug shows,or satanic rituals...rockwave festivals are presenting as a place were the wild youth listen their favourite music,and I never heard anything of negetive comments about those gatherings from media,maybe they criticize marlyn manson but the rock crowd is ok...Drugs are everywhere ,even rock,heavy metal,gothic...not only in our scene...
I dont want to compare trance with black metal...
I have the idea that trancers seem "too much"as an open minded culture and too much as a big worldwide crowd,for the most of "ordinary"people...
we are fastforward the future and so all the other eat our cosmic dust in space and time...
I have the idea that we have a concpiracy from the athourities against our tribe...I hope that this is only a scizophrenic thought from me and nothing more.

maybe the fact that the music is called psychedelic has something to do with it. to me, psychedelia is not necessarily related to substances, but you have to agree that to most ppl, it is.

You haven't been checking then. When the army took over the goverment in Greece, anyone with long hair that was listening to Black Sabbath, would get arrested not only if they were at a bar, or a gig, but when they would simply walk down the street! People were fleeing from their own country not because people would simply look at them weird when they were walking down the street, but because they got the sh*t kicked out of them for being "different" and actually spend time in jail for it. Other people have had it ruff as well, much harder than you mate.
