Ok now my honest opinion about this thread . I know you all won't like it but that's what i kept all the way it been progress .
Raja Ram is one of these who make their lives for psychedelic trance , he gave all his life to this music without any but any finansical support . He don't have anything in life within psytrance . If he mix CD that sound commercial to you it's your own problem because i think he has all rights in the world to have bit money and survive the life or maybe he just like the music he mix or maybe he thinks that music he mix is much more common these days that what he mix before and trying to be tuned .
Do you compare Metallica who live in castles to homeless ? If metallica will release CD made of farts ppl still buy it .
Stop talk about him like this and then bullshit about respect to others . You use word respect only when writing post about yourself .
i can bla bla like you , but what is realy matters are actions and not tripped words .

Anyway, "The Stash Bag vol 3 " is a very bad approach to psychedelic trance, compare it to something like Tristan`s "Twisted Session" and You know what I mean... |

Hmmm, I have been reading through this discussion and I'm surprised (or maybe not?) of how many totally off topic, stupid comments I have found here. If I have understood Manaslu right, and I think I do, he started this thread so that we can discuss a bad release and the sad story of a real talent that wasted his talent to some easy money...
Here are a couple of examples of really "far out" comments I have found on this thread:
-Someone wrote: "What can this thread solve?"
My comment to that: Nothing, we are just discussing the topic I mentioned above! That's what a forum is for, isn't it?
-Someone wrote: "If you don't like it, you don't need to buy it! What's the problem?"
My comment to that: ???? We are not discussing which records Manaslu needs to buy! We are discussing what I mentioned above... Is it a problem that we discuss that? no!!
-Someone wrote:"It is very good cd, and fuck of people who wanna be the cool checker and want to decide what is good or not good for other people."
My comment to that: Hey, we are just discussing something! It`s a forum...
-Someone wrote: "Tell us your real name Manaslu!"
My comment to that: What has his name to do with this discussion? By the way, Raja Ram is not his real name either! I think his real name is Mr. Rothfield...
Change of music and new styles can often be positive, but in this case it has changed to something negative... A couple of examples of positive evolution in psytrance is Haltya, Younger Brother, Blowfish, Kiwa etc. They go deeper instead of cheesier...

i dont think you can really blame him for being commercial along with anyone of the old time artist. I mean what is raja, in his 60s and has been doing this for over a decade. Thats a long time to make your living off of selling psytrance albums. Im sure hes not a rich man by any stretch of the imagination and i cant see how at his age hes going to go and get a normal day job.
With that said i really dont even consider buying anything at this point by my fav artists from 1999.
IM, GMS, simon posford , raja..... they all sound really burnt out to me with this music, IM i think are good enough musicians to be able to fake it really good. |
