I think some of the pioneers of psychedelic trance has started a game called "how low can you go?"

TRSF scene? and as i have proclaimed for a long time. Psytrance is getting more and more "commercial" .. Less drugs, more pumping on the dancefloor at kids party's.. just look at my hero's Infected Mushroom. But this is an old discussion than non of us want to dig up. Keep listening to what you like, and ignore the rest. *boja*

i mean, i like the guy, and i like seeing him and the tip records people on parties, but the sure know how to milk the $$$

I completely agree with you! Once Raja Ram was a pioneer of this scene! Just think about "T.I.P." , "The Mysteries fo the Yeti", "Shpongle" and so on....
This days, it seems that Mr. Raja Ram & Co want to be more commercial so they can sell more CDs, More Parties, More T-Shirts ...
This is very good if you are thinking from a business point of view, but from the other side, Raja Ram had a Fantastic reputation around the globe! He was respectable and i don't know if this is still happening !
Anyway, I send to him my best wishes and i hope he will find again the spiritual music path as did it when he founded Quintessence (leggendary psychedelic rock group)

what do you mean less drugs? i think there's loads more durgs at parties and festies. and that's part of problem. druggies like their music powerful. they don't give a shit about the quality as long as it's KIlllllllllllllllllller

I have had a lot of fun at TIP world parties in years gone by, and enjoyed hanging with Raja once and trying to find out what makes him tick..he is a genuinely psychedelic guy. But I must say, these latest releases don't look promising. 
Eskimo "popcorn" which was out a few months ago on at least 2 other compilations. The 1200 mics remixes, the title and packages... the lighter cheesier side of trance for sure... not the cutting edge.
My only guess (i don't know) is he has been hanging out in Mexico and Brazil a lot - and parties there are HUGE and popular... maybe he is trying to appeal to the South America mainstream rave culture?
Raja... we still love you... but try and keep it
cutting-edge and tasteful for us! You can do it!

Bah, this story was told years ago even. T.I.P. records (original) remains my favourite label, innovative and underground, always reaching out to new things... TIP world is innovative in only one sector: how commercial they can go. Sick way to tread on a good memory; for shame.
