I personaly prefer the guitars to stay in the rock music scene, though sometimes it can be really good in a psy track... but it's rare.

It can be bang on or cheesefest depending on the skills of the producer

i used to hear a lot of metal, and that's where guitars should stay..i really don't like agressive guitar riffs on psy music,it simply doesn't fit!
u are right Pelon,it can be really good in a track..but it's really rare,no skazi nor eskimo nor none of those crappy artists can do it well..that's my opinion,i just don't like it           Acid is not for every brain - only the healthy, happy, wholesome, handsome, hopeful, humorous, high-velocity should seek these experiences. This elitism is totally self-determined.
Unless you are self-confident, self-directed, self-selected, abstain.

Personally I like it if an artist uses the riffs correctly in production ...like Skazi & S.U.N Project - sounds awesome

I don’t like most of the guitar tracks out there. Mostly riffs are used in a “cheap” and stressful way to make the track sound more powerful, and to me it rarely works.

A track like Astrix’ “Fire” is a good example – and here it even sounds very sampled. I’ve never been a big fan of S.U.N. Project, but in their work it at least shines through that they are musicians used to working with the instrument.

In most guitar tracks I like, the guitar isn’t used in a stressful way. Examples:

Tomtron & Liesegang – Under The Sun
Vision & Canedy – Low Life
Eat Static - The 1st Revelation
Morphem/Segment - Whookys Wha

Examples of powerful guitar-tracks I like:

Mino – Contagious
1200 Mics – Mescaline (yep, I know it’s cheesy and cheap – but I actually like it )          DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

I've been noticing guitar and "rock elements" slowly seeping into alot of music, not just psytrance.

Was at a club that was playing mostly techy house, and a few guitars popped up here and there. Even in more popular 'mainstream' trance, they have been poking around.

If they are used well - I like them, but the artists that dont know how to play guitars and just rip off cheezy metal riffs, not so good.

Maybe...
In a moment artists use it in a stressfull way that stress me in five minuts listening the same music but if used with inteligence and ART i think that will be a good sound
Thanks.

In some tracks they are okay (EU - Meteor) but usually they suck. I like the ones with melody more, but hate distorted riffs, they bring too much rock feeling to psy.
Something like Pink Floyds - Comfortably Numb guitar solos i could like in psy.
