i was at a small intimate party this past weekend and i must say that i did not get that feeling i used to get back 4-5-6 years ago. the energy is different, feels almost corrupted, and the music, this full-on crap sounds almost like the music has de-evolved. hey to be honest maybe its just me, i really cant say for sure but i do know that the underground nature parties i used to go to 5 years ago in israel were the true psy/goa parties. these days it just seems to me like a bunch of people who joined the scene recently, too late i might say are just tryin too hard, these people who have never experienced a true party but only heard of them from some friend and so they try their hardiest to recreate something they have very little idea of. dont get me wrong, the psy/goa culture will never die, just needs to get back to its roots, back to nature, back to the pure energy and not the try-hard egotisitical energy it has develpoed into. maybe its still good at the nature partie in israel, i wouldn't know since i moved away three years ago but where i'm at know is just a bad imitation. trance is not just the music but a state of mind, and these days i find it harder and harder to reach that state of mind at parties, the energy just feels wrong. I must agree with AGMIS, truly very boring! Now i'm not sayin anything about the music thats bein released these days because for sure there is some Great stuff out there, maybe a little repetative at times but hey what can you expect from a beat driven form of music. |

i supose fullon or progreccive is way more entertaining than psytrance
i dont know what kind of psy do u hear dude but from loops of 1 psy track that i listen u can make like album of progreccive or fullon music

it is underground coze of fullon madness all arround and its better that way
1 to 100 parties r with good deccent psychedelic music
1 to 1000 artists that makes something original and unique
anyway thats makes it small and spetial to ppl related to it

We need to always look in the future, be open to new ideas and new boundaries. It seems many trancers are content with the state and sounds they have achieved and therefore lack of change brings of mundaness. Our whole scene depends on fresh new energy for survival but at the same time incorporating older ideas to bring about something bigger and better. This is where we have reached after aeons of change and it is this same change that will help push us to something newer and exciting. We must be ready and accepting of it rather than supress it.

Couldn't agree more, it is faaaaaaaaar from being dead their are more and more ppl interested in it actually a good example of that is the increasing number of users here in isratrance (please correct me if I'm wrong).
psytrance is just boring, perhaps we should stop catagorizing styles and new atrists should not have the aim of following or even copying todays most inovative psytrance producer

for me its neither dead nor boring.
- some of my most appreciated cd's has been released this year, like Etnoscope "Drums from the dawn of time", Sensient "Blue Neevus", Psysex "Come in peace", Paste "Blow out", Zenon Rec's "Eyes rolling" and some fucking good 12" like Zerotonine "Drunken flower/Fettling", insaneCreation "Te fööl/Upload", etc etc.
- some more genious albums were released that i dont have yet like Entheogenic "Spontaneous illumination"
- i had some veeery wicked parties this year.
imho, THIS WAS A FUCKING GOOD YEAR!

Its simple.. Your hear something.. if you seem to enjoy it or dance to it.. then its well alive and kicking.. if its changing your thought cycle its well alive and psychedelic.
I think lot of needless disturbing wordings should be avoided. It should be just music involve in changing the state of your mind.

In Denmark the psyscene have becomed a "trend" full of Solario tanned and silicone tit bimbo's and teen-boys with Tin-Tin haircuts and tribal tattoo's chewing their teeths off 
It's as far away as it's ever been from the "psy-spirit". It's nothing but a trendy "clubber's paradise". Nothing wrong with that if that's what you want. But I don't see any psy-spirit in Denmark at all.... Well maybe in the small underground outdoor parties but for sure not in the Indoor parties in Copenhagen.
Actually the sprit as I remember the spirit in the "good old psy/goa days" can actually be found quite similar in the high quality but quite small progressive Swedish/Danish parties on both sides of the sea. |
