Seriously? I guess you're taste in music is the best hey?
I don't listen much to that style but it's pretty damn good beat boxing. Nice filter sweeps

If you had two of these groups together, you could DJ them... no wait, you'd be a Conductor! !

Forgive me if i get a little technical I shall try to keep it simple....
Psykovsky is NOT faking his knob tweaking....
If ur expecting him to be synthesizing sounds and remixing tracks on the spot thats not the idea behind his "live" performance
He has pre made sets (he works incredibly hard in creating intricate beautiful stories for up to 12hours!!!)consisting of tracks split over 3-4 channels in cubase and those are sent outside into the mixer...He is then mostly playing with the EQ and Levels for each channel...sometimes he might play with a granular effect or such.....
Now altho that sounds like hes doing piss all...he is manipulating the dynamics of the sound coming out through the speakers in HUGE ways...At times He has all three channels playing at once...each occupying its own frequency spectrum ending up getting summed in the analogue domain out the master bus...
Now for the Production Geeks in here...you can thing of this as a trick to overcome the "mixing in the box "sound...
The old school boys were doing it way back in the day...a big reason for playing live through huge multi channel consoles...it makes the world of a difference in getting that larger than life sound...This is psykovsky's method for achieving that using standard dj limited equipment...
Anyway Vasily is playing with the frequencies and track levels non stop..He is making the music live and breathe....infact if he stops doing the "knob twiddling" the music will suddenly sound boring and lifeless...Infact if you try to talk to him while playing taking him away from his twiddling he is likely to get a little irritated...
He is INCREDIBLY dedicated...
This type of thing is not easy for a camera to pick up thats why on videos it sounds like hes doing nothing...when in fact hes making people trip out to his music in ways they could never do so just by chucking on his cd at home...
Few artists still play the way he can...literally for the ENTIRE duration of an overnight party....That is what trance music is about..that is what he is paid to do...and thats what his fans and psychedelic music enthusiasts come to experience...

Ableton killed Live Acts, I mean real ones!
Now it's harder to make a DJ Set than a Live one instead

I hung out with Vasily a bit in 2010?
Hex Osirus's description sounds about right. The guy also spent about 12 hours aday working on his music from what I saw for about three weeks. just saying, this guy is not a fraud, you may not like his style.

Yooo Hex, your absolutely spot on... Most people hatin on this thread really have noo idea what a live set is. & yep my point is the same, do they expect him to create a track on the spot or what.... Live sets are about stories people, the biggest point that makes it live is if ur playin ur own music....
Ova nd out

What works for you I guess, personally his music sucks and his "performance" is a joke.
"Stories" my ass.
