TAS,
you're right baout most things,, that u dunt need 2 read a book 2 understand that u shud respect people, nature ..
and again tat religion has claimed more lives ...
surely evne the current situation in a lot of countries proves that...
but dun u think that we have created these problems,,,
are we really following the teachings??(presuming all religions promote peace)

Absolutely... we as human beeings are responsible for how the world looks. No other animal can possible be so stupid/smart so she could achive this madness that going on... So it´s not the religion who has done it. A book or a tale can´t "get life" and do all these things... and in the bottom of all, I´m sure religion has good intensions, or atleast had in the beginning... otherwise it should not be so many ppl that follows these beliefs.... but the thing is many ppl misjudges the text in the books and does things the way you shall not do. And then using it in the name of religion wich is just wrong...
Take a look at this doc. wich explains where religion started and how similar they all are to eachothers...

TAS, i think your starting to get it...
The philosophies of many religions have good intentions, and I'm not saying that every word written in these books are with out error, cuz after all it was written by humans. But for the most part, it is a way to live your life in a moral sense.
Many people who were without purpose and direction have turned to religions and it has done good for many people, because it provided structure, a structure of how to live their lives.
The problem is that many people will misinterpret these readings, and many will do it for their own personal agenda. It is undoubtedly the biggest reason in the past and in today for all the conflicts and hatred that is out there in the world and it goes many many generations deep. Such a shame, because the reality is, we are much more alike then we want to see ourselves as. The core message in the readings of the bible, torah or the teachings of the buddha or Hindu dharma are similar in the respect of the good moral guidelines one can live by.
The misinterpretations of these beliefs and teachings have done a lot of good and bad through out the world. Extremism in anything, even in the devotion of these religions can be destructive. It allows one to become controlled and brainwashed and becoming one of the masses.
Ultimately it is us and our decisions we make who make up the world. Don't close your eyes and become biased against something because of the errors of other people, because there is much out there that you can learn and take something positive and respectful with you; from day to day life or from a book or a religious or philosophical teaching.

Hehe.... Religion is BS since I don´t consider us to need a fairy tale to know how to live our lifes...
But it is the humans that are the ones acting... not the religion...
And as I told you or wrote earlier in this thread... I don´t care about what other ppl believe as long as it don´t effects me wich it does and has done since the beginning of my life...
That´s why I´m against it... coz´ it wont leave me alone... I hear the name Muslims, Christians etc etc everyday wereever I turn my head or listen... Can´t even watch the news anymore coz´ of this....
We are all human beeings and everyone is worth as much as the other, no matter what. If religion could combine ppl instead of divide them I would LOVE it.... but now it´s the opposite... So IMO, it´s BS... just another way to control and split the masses... just like the right and left wing politics does...
And sorry if I´m confusing you..... if we could talk in my motherlanguage it would been alot eaisier since I don´t know the english language so good

Absolutely... I´m sure many "lost souls" has been "saved?" by religion since it is an powerfull "tool" to brainwash weak minds... and maybe this ppl have better lives after they devoted themself to religion. And that´s fine with me... I´m not saying I´m the one that´s right... I´m just sharing my opinions such as you do. And I think alot of the things you say makes sence!
But the thing is... if we (the people) can´t handle it, is it really good for us or does it just make us enemies to eachothers? As the world looks today it´s the last thing I mentioned...
I have and will always believe if religion should continue to exist... take the "best" parts of them and combine them all into 1... But that goal is impossible... to many minds and thoughs about what´s right and wrong... So in my eyes and thoughts... the world would be better of without it...

People of middle-Earth, did n't read the entire thread cause I find it boring as you might find me. I just wanted to remind you that the idea of a psychedelic church of God or.. whatever.. is not new or common. After all, I think there are still Psychedelic Churches in USA (yeah, God bless -em) LA & San Fransisco mostly.
A note: it has allready been done. And please DO NOT MIX PSYCHEDELIC EXPERIENCE WITH THE HOLOTROPIC STATE> totally different virtues my souls, ta.. Hmmm..
