Psychedelic/Ambient/Chill Production Forum ?!

ok, isratrance has a very nice and worldwide known music production forum. it has lots of topic that are useful and helpful for anyone who wishes to produce electronic music in general. anyway, it still very "full on" oriented...
there are one million posts discussing full on basslines, full on vst`s, full on leads, full on BPMs, full on brain-alphawaves, full on mastering, full on eq'ing, full on hardware and full on harassing.
anyone that wanna starts producing psychedelic trance has an awesome online and up-to-date enciclopedia, with some top tips from the "pros" and posts discussing every single issue of psy trance production. what results of that? progression and a worldwide exchange of knowledge. i`m pretty sure 90% of the psy producers i know here in Brazil wouldn`t even exist if it wasn`t for that source of information..

thing is our scene lacks something like that... we could use the same forum, but we don`t, nor the public nor the ambient producers. obviously none of us feel at home to discuss there what would be a killer synth for trip hop basslines or some nice sample source for ethnic vocals (ok, examples were very obvious..sorry..but i think you got the point).

and i`m not talking about standarized crap like a complete tutorial on "how to program an dub style bass like Ott, step-by-step"... i`m talking about info that leads people to think, that can clarify some issues that are cloudy for someone that wanna start producing psybient.

I know is a delicate question.. in case its too terribly complicated for the Isra trance team to solve, it could be a fixed topic inside the Ambient forum.

what all of you think?

am i too stoned?

See? On balance I really like this idea. Really, really like it. In theory.

However there's just one snag and it's this; ambient, chill and dub cover an absolutely massive range of styles, unlike trance, which in most cases adheres to a particular formula. The BPM, the bassline, the samples, the sweeping synths, even the sound of the kick...! You just don't get that in downbeat music to the same extent. This review section covers everything from trippy psydub to beatless ambient, so how would you go about setting up something to cover such a wide variety of producing styles?

Don't get me wrong. If a section like this was opened for budding chill-out artists I'd be my first to click on the link and pour over every detail with my eyes agog, and my finger hovering over the tweak button like a randy wasp who's just spotted a jam sandwich. So many ideas, so little time and knowledge...

But you see one of the things I love about my downbeat is that it is so diverse; as an artist, you have full reign to do whatever the fuck you want and maybe even create something original from it. As a listener, I never get tired of chill-out for that very reason. Sadly, I think those traits are also what would make a related production section very hard to manage coherently and realistically I can't imagine anyone In Power going for the idea.

Still. I'd tick the 'Yes' box without a second thought given the choice.

{{{This review section covers everything from trippy psydub to beatless ambient, so how would you go about setting up something to cover such a wide variety of producing styles? }}}

i know and i agree. but we can sort that out
we have a singnificant number of producers and public in every substyle of tha chill out. and there are also some issues that are common to a bunch of those substyles.

"Hola punkah!!!

hmmmmm, i tought (if possible...) it would be cool to keep that on isratrance, since all of the producers and chill friends are already here. starting something from scratch at tribe feels like anotrher mission.
i dunno tribe.net that well, only took a look on its psy dub community once. it looks nice but i dunno how it works,,jajaja

and itai, no matter where it gets hosted, you are already invited to share some experiences on sick dub production. seen i bredda

so let's start!
for me it's a game to produce ambient, because I start it in different way each time, the thing is to produce an atmosphere....
sometime I start an ambient track and derivate on hip hop or trip hop, for me no rules no style, just following my feeling...

Guys, why do you need separate forum ?

You can freely use "equipment & music creation" section for that.           -=Lead System Designer=-

cyber...we all now that.
but none of us ever used that forum, and probably it will never happen, for several reasons...

"thing is our scene lacks something like that... we could use the same forum, but we don`t, nor the public nor the ambient producers. obviously none of us feel at home to discuss there what would be a killer synth for trip hop basslines or some nice sample source for ethnic vocals (ok, examples were very obvious..sorry..but i think you got the point). I think too is a great idea...I am in desperate need of a tutorial on how to program cowbells grooves like Ott or how to liquify a snare into alcool tincture...I personally don't like Tribe.net at all...infact I cancel my subscription there...too much advertisment (useless and annoying one) and too much of american dream feeling in it... ;-)
for anyone interested I got the recipe for dub curry prawns with mashed masala beats...
