Hello all u new york/new jersey psy freaks, a BIG thank you to Theo, pat & ben and the crew for replacing andrew with me. I had such a blast for my first USA set and to play some traks on the killer sound system aswell as new traks from my label. Was one hell of an intresting weekend and will be great pleasure to play for any of these events in new york again. Just got back to montreal, and still recovering

Cheers

first off a thousand thank yous to all who made this gathering the amazing, unforgetable experience that it was: all the dj's, dancers, freaks, shamans, tweakers, neo-pagans, digi-hippies, and everyone who came out and participated.

i still cannot believe how many people were there, i mean easily 300 over the course of the night.

unfortunately, as some of you may have heard, andrew humphries was unable to make it out. the airline completely dicked us over. we had bought his plane ticket using my friend theo's frequent flyer miles. even though theo actually drove to the airport to sign a waiver in person allowing andrew to use his miles, when andrew attempted to board the plane, they accused him of fraudulently using someone else's miles and refused to let him on! by the time theo had sorted it out with the airline and booked andrew on a later flight (the last one of the day), andrew had already left the airport, and we were unable to establish contact with him until after the last flight had already left. argh!

despite this setback, we were able to get in touch with greg/dj horizon at the last minute, and get him down to new york. he played an awesome set, so ironically it worked out after all.

i don't think too many people noticed or cared. the party and the music was just too good the whole night

@kilowatts
i think most of what you're talking about was actually sand/dirt, not all of it was white. there was some serious dust being kicked up. if you were standing right next to a tiki torch for an extended period of time, i suppose it might be possible to get some soot on you, but certainly not enough to cover your whole body.

@psy_greg
don't forget about the philly phreaks either! we were there in phull phorce!

cheers

Yeah, huge props to Greg for accepting what was hopefully the most last minute booking I will ever make (literally 12 hour prior to the party) and for his truly awesome morning set. And thank you Pat, Ben, and everybody else who was involved for adding yet another amazing outdoor to my psysummer. Especially you. You know who you are...

wow! glad to hear the party went well after all the chaos...sorry to hear about Andrew and the mix-up, but was super happy to read that you guys got Greg to come down from Canada to play instead- excellent choice!

Our paths randomly crossed when I was in London back in April, and its soo great to read that he played his first set in the US! Sad I had to miss out...but yay for another successful PSI gathering! See you guys in Aug!           ~gOa ist nicht nur musik sondern auch eine lebenseinstellung~

I can't wait until the August event because my experience was cut short at this one by my friend who had a hard time getting into the groove... I would've loved to dance until the sun came up but had to leave early...

I have one suggestion - RAISE THE SPEAKERS OFF THE GROUND... That way the sound will never be interrupted by people dancing in between you and the speaker...

Looking forward to the next event! Any details yet?

I wouldn't raise the speakers off the ground... The ground serves as such a fantastic subwoofer... I was amazed at how well the bass carried. I don't think that will happen as well if the speakers are raised.

In fact, great job on the sound altogether - it was crystal clear and booming, and there weren't any latency issues between the channels.

I'm getting quite excited about the August event as well...

Wow man, that party was off the hook. The stomp ground was dense and kicking all through the night and into the morning. The sound was good, the deco was just right, projections on the trees added a nice touch... Attendance was at an all-time high for the barrens, as far as I can remember, and the raver element was at an all-time low. Good psychedelic energy all the way.

My theory about the black soot in the dust: The clearings in the pine barrens (there are many) were created by intentional fires so that in case of wild fire the fire dept. can get in close enough to extinguish it. This would most likely leave more than a bit of ash. So it's just powdered charcoal in the dust. I could be wrong, but it makes sense to me.
