we've tried this a couple of times with mixed results.
the main problem is the volume from the main dancefloor area, you can't really set up a 2nd sound system in the area without it clashing, to say nothing of the extra juice being pulled from the generator.
at the 4:20 party a couple years ago, we had a small space set up deeper into the woods, with some xmas lights and a little boombox, but you couldn't really escape the "boom boom boom".
last year ben brought a geodesic dome and set it up as a chill out tent. it was a nice space just to relax, but no chill music could be heard above the trance being played.
but hey, if anyone has some ideas about this, feel free to email/pm me.
personally, when i need to relax, i just walk to the top of the hill, look down, and take it all in

Our secret headliner is 100% confirmed, flight has been booked. We will be revealing the mystery dj a couple days before the party.

Greetings,
First of all, we are very pleased to announce our (no longer secret  ) headliner:
DJ ANDREW HUMPHRIES (Voice of Cod, Organic Records - London, UK)
Andrew is a well respected DJ around Europe and the A&R/Promotions manager for Organic Records. Releasing music under the guise of Mr. Biscuit and Voice of Cod (along with Colin OOOD), he describes his music as "dance floor psytrance with some mad experimentations, plus there must be a message." Originally hailing from Australia, Andrew moved to the UK in 1999, and has played at most of the major clubs and parties there including Return to the Source, Catch23, Twisted, Karma, Liquid Connective, Anti World, Chichime, Natural Order, Shua, in addition to touring internationally in Portugal, USA, Greece, Holland, Spain, Switzerland, and his homeland of Australia. Having recently put together the critically acclaimed compilation "Invasion from Hyperspace", Andrew is now poised to release the debut Voice of Cod album in fall of 2005 on Organic Records. His sets are full of energy and some of the best upcoming and unreleased tunes Organic has to offer. Let's be sure and give Andrew a warm welcome for his first New Jersey appearance!

7:00 - 9:30 - Dave Henshaw
9:30 - 11:00 - chill out extravaganza with Karmakanik, Nogloom, and special guests.

Welp, that was indeed a corker! Wow, awesome location, so many people! So many more than I expected. What a great location... that was one hell of a scene. Complete invisibility.
I had to jet about 6am, but I hope everything went smoothly for the next 5 hours. The place was still massively deep in a locked groove at that time, and it looked downright amazing from the top of that hill!
Thanks for making that happen, PSI - I'll definitely be out Aug. 20th.
I only have one complaint:
Those tiki torches - I could be wrong, but I think whatever you were burning created a thick black smoke cloud of soot that completely covered everyone. I guess it could've been the sand - but the sand was white-ish, and this stuff was black and all over me. I had to do some serious scrubbing to get it off too!
But hey, it's good to get downright dirty every now and then! |
