BEST - Define the word BEST.
As we all love PsyTrance and most of us not from today, what do we have in common?
what can be defined as BEST?
What is BEST?
Is there a point to DEFINE best?

Let's put it this way,
This is what i want to dance to, Dream to, Stomp to.
This is what i feel and think when i hear the word TRANCE.
This is what i would play for people if they asked me what is so special about trance.
That's what BEST is, BEST = Trance, TRANCE = Progressive Psychedelic.

It holds the power and energy of the most uplifting pads and melodies from GOA.

It digs as deep as only the GOA-ish base and kick drums did.

And it hold you hypnotized and attached only as well as GOA trance did.

Progressive Trance for me is combining GOA , Minimal and Full ON into one perfect harmony.
It has it all, and it's amazing.

I am tottaly hooked, if anyone thinks otherwise, listen to these C.Ds:

Andromeda

MILE-STONES in progressive trance.

DANCE BROTHA!!

What do you have to say?

I like Trance, so i am called The TrancEisT. but hey... what about people who like Rap? what are they called?

I'm also mainly into progressive, but saying it by definition is the best genre, isn't really fair. People have different tastes.

That's exactly why i want to discuss this.
There is no real point to it.
Since every person and his taste.

But if you'd ask me what trance is about these dark days where it has become a mishmash of crap and commercilized dreams.
I'd tell you it's THIS. and this holds it alive.

P.S : Just finished listening to the new P.O.T.S album, and i think i will regain my normal conscious in about an hour or so.          I like Trance, so i am called The TrancEisT. but hey... what about people who like Rap? what are they called?

When I think of perfect trance, I think of Twisted Rec. IMO, twisted rec. artists are more hypnotic and psychedelic, then most progressive artists, altough, I like progressive.

@Tranceist I don't agree. Especially the Andromeda album is much much too boring for me.

I like progessive also but it's useless to say that it's the best because trance can be so much more intense and psychedelic. Also it's very slow and it's expression is always that you are going somewere but you never arrive! It's very good for starting off a party you know groovy and melodic and deep but man i cannot imagine a trance dancefloor in like 4.00am with progressive??? Man at that time we need fast music and melodies nothing slow. Also if i have to choose from progressive and any other music right now i would say i much prefer Ambient Trance like Aesdana and friends it's more deep and more psychedelic in my opinion.

Its crystal clear, that there is no such a thing 'The best'. One can say what he thinks as the best and the other one can say that its pure crap. It is not something agreed by all.

About progressive:2005 for me is the progressive year. I have been listening more to progressive than full on, because in full on there are not many original artists. And I 'Blame' 2 ppl: Zombi and Yuli. I went to their party lines and after every party I just can't listen to nothing but prog, its way deeper and spiritual than full on. 2-3 weeks after the party I must recover myself and listen to full on ( GOMA - intelligent solution: amazing recovery track).

Overall: I mad about full on music and raves. its deep as a sea while prog is deep as an ocean . Progressive, since 2005 for me is more satisfying experience.
about goa: goa is not my cup of tea. It was to fluffy and melodic. I can't see anything in common with progg only with full on.

FREqS album is something rare and unbelievable. Breath taking music
Lime light compilation is masterpiece
Ticon albums – school of music
Also Yotopia
Lish
But the artist that I have very high expectation from him is Nasa. Just listen to his 'absolute magnetism' track. It's unbelievable!!! My jaw is on the ground!!!

I have to say:

TrancEisT, review your concepts, what is best in this case is obviously opinion-dependent.

Respect!           .

im also into progressive sounds.
but i have to say that all the albums u mentioned as "mile stones" are far far far very far from beeing such

maybe some do combine few things in it but in an overview, its same copy paste music as we know from so called mfull on artists.
nothing inovative and nothing groundbreaking...
after 2 listenings it already starts to sound boring and recycled...

i need my deep moments
which psy prog is soooooo missing nowdays.

so to define it as the best? dunno...
imo its just a trand phaze

How can you call these albums milestones?
Despite FREq's album from last year, the rest are albums who were released very much lately, not bringing and new messages or fresh ideas to the almost-drained progressive scene.
Don't get me wrong - I like progressive trance, and I think that P.O.T.S album is quite enjoyable - as many other "progressive" releases, new and (mostly) older, but most of the time when I hear prog, I have a feeling of deja-vu ... most tracks resembles each other - slighty varied in bpm, or scales, or fx's, but the same general idea, same groove, same entrances, etc ...

Bottom line - none.

I have already written my thought regarding this.

Sorry to tell you the truth but when ppl think trance is about SKAZI KILLARGHSSS or FULL ON MADNESS LA PANIM 00:00 ---> 05:00 drinking beer at the local dark club with shit sound or other types of unbalanced crap it saddens me, cause this is what trance has become.

Now , put that aside and looking deeper into the world of progressive and where it came form and what it makes people feel it's is most understandable for me that this symbolizes trance for me these days, and I think I am not alone on this.

Hallucinogen, the rest of the Twisted guys Xerox , and other Intelligent Full ON or Psychedelia artists will always have their greatest respect. But sadly Hallucinogen is not around for quite a long time.

Regarding what ganjagil said about dancing at 4:00 am, it's true, I did not say FORGET ABOUT all trance genres! PROGRESSIVE OR DIE!
I said this symbolizes what trance is these days *for me* and I think many will agree.
I didn't say it's ground braking, didn't say it's the most sophisticated , didn't say every single track is original, but what i do say is that since almost 2 years ago, when i 1st heard the FREq album and the Andromeda one, i slowly grew into a new house who's walls are made out of proggressive psychedelic music.
Nothing these days in my opinion can be related more to the vibe and feeling of trance than this kind of music.

Once again, this is not a BEST OR WORST topic, as you can understand from my 1st and 2nd paragraph in the 1st post.

i'm with you tranceist. i don't know if you mean minimal too when you talk about progressive, but either ways i'm with you

but to be very honest i can't see the point of this topic - sounds like full-on vs prog again           Bhavatu sabba mangalam
