I find that asaulting, but since i know your an asshole i will let it pass

There is no point!!!

Councillor Harmann:

Down here, sometimes I think about all those people still plugged into the Matrix and when I look at these machines I... I can't help thinking that in a way... we are plugged into them.
Neo:

But we control these machines; they don't control us.
Councillor Harmann: Of course not. How could they? The idea is pure nonsense. But... it does make one wonder... just... what is control?
Neo:

If we wanted, we could shut these machines down.
Councillor Harmann:

[Of] course. That's it. You hit it. That's control, isn't it? If we wanted we could smash them to bits. Although, if we did, we'd have to consider what would happen to our lights, our heat, our air...

Neo:

So we need machines and they need us, is that your point, Councilor?
Councillor Harmann: No. No point. Old men like me don't bother with making points. There's no point.
Neo:

Is that why there are no young men on the council?
Councillor Harmann: Good point.

but i have to say that all the albums u mentioned as "mile stones" are far far far very far from beeing such

maybe some do combine few things in it but in an overview, its same copy paste music as we know from so called full on artists.
nothing inovative and nothing groundbreaking...

I second that.

Sorry to tell you the truth but when ppl think trance is about SKAZI KILLARGHSSS or FULL ON MADNESS LA PANIM 00:00 ---> 05:00 drinking beer at the local dark club with shit sound or other types of unbalanced crap it saddens me, cause this is what trance has become.

Stop worring about what people think.
For example, I like much more full on than proggy (but I still enjoy some good proggy). For me a good full on set, let's say Shanegobi playing, is much more joyful AND psychedelic than a proggy set.

Also I think people would crucify me if I start a thread like: "Full on is the best genre".
Respect!           .

when people wanted to crucify me when i said that progressive is the best genre.
and people still wants to crucify me because i like it minimal and slow (not here)           http://www.o-zen.com/art/ranal

BEST - Define the word BEST.
As we all love PsyTrance and most of us not from today, what do we have in common?
what can be defined as BEST?
What is BEST?
Is there a point to DEFINE best?

Let's put it this way,
This is what i want to dance to, Dream to, Stomp to.
This is what i feel and think when i hear the word TRANCE.
This is what i would play for people if they asked me what is so special about trance.
That's what BEST is, BEST = Trance, TRANCE = Progressive Psychedelic.

It holds the power and energy of the most uplifting pads and melodies from GOA.

It digs as deep as only the GOA-ish base and kick drums did.

And it hold you hypnotized and attached only as well as GOA trance did.

Progressive Trance for me is combining GOA , Minimal and Full ON into one perfect harmony.
It has it all, and it's amazing.

I am tottaly hooked, if anyone thinks otherwise, listen to these C.Ds:

MILE-STONES in progressive trance.

DANCE BROTHA!!

What do you have to say?

What do you ment exactly by saying progressive ? Did you mean trance or psytrance. There is major difference beetwen those 2 styles. Progressive Trance has almost nothing in common with goatrance or psytrance. Progressive psytrance may have

For me prog psy trance became enough boring the last months...It sounds like full on with less bpm..The same plastic sounds and basslines....Even big labels like Iboga fall into that shit.. Best example Set 6 compilation is sounding enough childish!Except Phony Orphants and some other tracks from compilations I didn't hear something realy interesting lately. Now for the best style since psy goa I think that there are many good releases from 98 till now...There are too many styles to mention likeScandinavian Trance of Spiral Trax,Digital Structures and Iboga 5 years ago,Flying Rhinos releases,Novatek,Blue Room,Spirit Zone,Gravity Plus and Boshke Beats and many more. The only sure is that there is much better music than nowdays psy prog.           www.myspace.com/tasos_notrea

To be quite honnest, I dont play nothing else but Progressive trance. Every day i get full on music and 80% of them is the same borring shit (except for some artists). All based on the copy-paste routine. If it wasn't for Iboga and Co. i would have stoped listening to trance.
I wouldn't agree with Tasos at all. Boring and plastic Iboga??? Come on man, any deeper and it would be tantra mate
Everyone has a personal taste, it wouldn't be nice to judgje about tastes. But still, I think what Iboga are doing now, no other label is possible to do. They released the best Progressive tracks this year, every single release was a blast.
Also the other labels had briliant releases. It's a rarity to hear a release that is like 80% crappy music on it. But there are some.
The point is, this is the best year for progressive trance, at least i think it is. A lot of progression has been made on that scene. I also miss Flying Rhino, Blue Room, but what the hay, we've got Iboga, DS, Spiral trax....           www.digitaldance.org

Come on man I don't blame anyone.Iboga is one of my favourite labels but I just feel a little disapointment about Set 6 and Set 5 compilations...I can't compare them with other Iboga releases..Fortunatelly the Behind Blue Eyes album is a kick ass album with much more serious and mature style from that compilations that I mentioned! I missed the dark Iboga sound!           www.myspace.com/tasos_notrea

I think that artists like Misted Muppet, Nystagmus, Talpa, Synsun , early Infected, that incorporate a ton of musical complexity in their albums are far more interesting than the progressive releases, even though I'm starting to enjoy prog alot. I dunno, but prog seems WAAYYY more like copy-paste music when compared to that kind of psy. Just my opinion, cheers!           Row row row your boats gently down the stream; merrily merrily merrily merrily life is but a dream.
