ok... now there might be two things happening at these party. either the soundsystem was lousy, or there are a lot of people who dont know where they are going, just following the crowd. "monotonous beats", hey pal, read the definition of trance music (and not only in electronic terms) . the monotonous beat is the key for the mind to get into a trance state (by means of music of course). what's no doubt is that penta is a great artist, and if u dont like penta , why go to a penta party. seems really stupid to me.

guys, i dont know why you give people like soset any attention .. our forum is as good as we let it be, and encouraging any kind of conversation from users like that is a waste of time.
i understand this forum is built around free speech, and im usually quite unconcerned by what people have to post- but people - 5 pages that have achieved nothing - all the people who think sensibly are agreeing with each other, and as for the other three meatheads who agree with each other ..
get a life .. if youd like to waste it, dont waste it on our forum - we actually use it ..

actually a lot of people are sensitive to extreme harshness of the 'SF sound'.
Some feel literally attacked and violated by it - especially when they didn't know what was coming. I can empathize with this.
They are nice people with a valid opinion. respect.

wow. i really think it is just rude, stupid, and fucked up to come in and start a thread like this thread. its really hard to undo the damage an entirely negative thread like this can do. now matter how great the party actually was, folks here in the forum only know the tainted version first presented by Soset- no amount of positive posts after the fact can change the nature of this thread- it was started to rip on the penta party.
ok. maybe you don't like PSYCHEDELIC trance-
maybe you like emotional trance, aka the fluffier melodic stuff. MAYBE you took some bad acid or something. MAYBE you were stressed at work. i just don't think all the positive opinions in the WORLD can fill in the NASTY grave some IDIOTS dug by starting this post.
this seriously pisses me off and reminds me of the time someone decided to piss on my party in bombay. i got ripped to peices in the forum by someone who started a thread about how they disliked my music.
have you ever seen artists start threads about how much they hate this other artist or that artist etc? no. didn't think so. artists tend to appreciate the hard work and creativity that goes into someone elses music or at least respect that another creator is different than them. its one thing to express your self IN a thread, its a nother thing entirely to START a thread with the negative intent to BASH someone.

you are a first class dick for starting this thread. if i think of all the parties i went to that I wasn't so happy with i'd have a few- i don't think i've ever posted a thread about disliking the party or artist.
but if you are such the expert critic that you start threads about why an artist or a party suckes, then i expect you to know the genre or style of musc you are criticizing.
comparing morning fluffy progressive to penta is not fair or equitable. totally different.
bottom line- this thread should not exist.
i'm getting really sick of the juvenile moralisms "light/dark" and all this bullshit.

there are many sounds represented in san francisco.
just because you suddenly like psychedelic trance doesn't mean the entire movement/scene is going to jump to your siren call to (re)return to fluff.
many of us have been interested in this music for over a decade and we want some evolution and have chosen to take this evolution in a more abstract direction that some people don't understand. they would prefer that we stuck with Mary Had A Little Lamb.
But we press on. nothwithstanding the SHEEP who seek mere comfort and dull warmth.

im sure penta has played many at many other parties and been complimented on his amazing style
i love dark trance and was expecting an amazing set from him...but i didnt get
penta is not the sum total from just one party he is the total of all his parties
so if he or you are too much of little girls to take a bit of criticism thats ridic

what was that first big track by Penta? The one with the vocal effect in a melody? That was very fulffy/emotional. My first impression, which i admit, was skewered by his abrasive recent style, was very positive at this well done track.
I do really like that lilting hypnotic piece with the samples from Star Trek IV however too. |

hi evrybody its uriel...
i see all this mass and i dont think , ppl understand what was the problem at this party.
there was one big problem which ive seen there and i think it was the only one.
tdc crew put heavy duty bass cabinets which over flow the sound in the club , that was in a good meening , but thay didnt put the same level of top spekers which provide us the mid & high frequencies which is the salt and pepper in this music , so basicly the crowd didnt get to hear the music as it should . the base was louder than everything else and kind of block all the other sounds which came from a tiny jbl monitors that was far on the wall and didnt long throw those sounds, i knew is going 2 happen i was talking to nik about it.
im sorry for penta couse u guys didnt hear his music on the right way so basicly u didnt hear real penta live.
to all the promoters - if u brink an artist 2 play for u please make sure the sound is only 100% couse than every other thing is ussles.
2 everybody else "tdc" is a new group which have a good vibes and im sure thay will do better next time , we need 2 support all the promoters thats try 2 provide us a bigger and better trance scene here and give thame credit for the efforts.
im a former member of ECLIPTIC-TRANCE crew, i know is of topic but one of the reasons we form this group is 2 show u guys that we can make a diffrent , and let u expireance a party as it sould be , with all the aspects. if u want 2 make a good party make sure everything is top level thats the only way.
if u tried 2 round corners it will come back in ur face.
the scene in new york can be the biggest lats make it happen.
in trance we trust ......
penta i realy like ur live & dj set u rock and u know it. i didnt hear bablas set , sorry but all i read was good vibes.
c u all on the next parties.

Not that it makes any difference in my opinion, but soset did not start this thread, it was broken off of the tdc party thread below by the moderators because i guess they thought it no longer had anything to do with the party; as it didn't, it was al about people saying how they dislike a certain sound without giving any reason for it.
